BDobbins has SPOKEN

Discuss.

i agree with the new stuff he wanted, at the end he got alttle crazy but ya.
p.s. 120 movment speed and no sprint please

I saw this earlier today and I almost always enjoy what he has to say

A lot of his ideas sound awesome in that last couple of minutes of the video. But he’s forgetting, all we want is Halo 3.5. This community would shoot down any and every one of those ideas if they were introduced simply because they weren’t featured in the original trilogy.

All we want is Halo 3.5? Who is this “WE” you speak of?
I want damn near everything that BD spoke of in his video, and none of it is Halo 3.5. He should 100% be a game dev somewhere, and if his ideas were followed I would in turn follow his creations.

Him, me and most of the other people who quickly stopped playing Reach and H4 after launch.

His ideas are great. But the fuddy duddies in this community would go red with rage if any of these were actually implemented.

I stopped playing Reach and H4 after I beat their campaigns because multiplayer was terrible.
H3 5-Star Gen
H2 topped out at rank 43.
I know full well what made Halo great, but I also don’t H2 and H3 rehashed year after year after year after… you get the point.
Just because I enjoy the direction H5 is going doesn’t make me blind to what made it great. It has it’s flaws and it has things that it’s done well.

The feeling I get from all that aren’t liking this game and want essentially a Halo 3.5 is that they are averse to change. How so? All change that has been previewed with this Beta has been viewed in a negative light by most.
Sprint? IN HALO?!??! OH GAWD THE SKY IS FALLING.
Ground pound? Silly, unnecessary.
Thruster pack? omgCoDAWwtf.

Take these things out and what do you have really? Halo 3.5 stagnant arena gameplay with shiny maps at 60 FPS.
I would love to see this game played without those additions, only to see the H3.5 guys bxtch about what they are left with.
I would absolutely hate this game without the new additions because it wouldn’t feel right.

Nobody can tell me they would only play Halo 2 or Halo 3 for the rest of their lives, much less get sold that same game yet again. That’s just ignorant.

Woo this guy doesn’t have a lid on his mouth. He’s damn good in the gameplay and brought up a lot of good points.

There are so many creative ideas out there that are great, but are being burried. He is right about the play testers/focus group. I’ve played tested before, and Cod was brought up a lot. I want someone to get their creative juices flowing, the imagination is lacking. Who says you can’t duel wield swords are both a hammer and sword?? Not me, I made a thread a long time ago about balancing duel wield melee weapons. Who says an equipment grenade can’t capture you like a pokeball and make you fight for your life to escape?

Never heard of this guy before… but he nailed it.

Halo 2 or 3 would be fine for me for the rest of my life (with updated graphics every five years or so). I’m not opposed to change. I quite like being able to float while jumping and zooming because it doesn’t change the way the game is played radically. I love Mario Kart 8 even though I grew up on the original SNES version… Change can be good but I don’t accept all change as progress.
