I think it would be neat if the forum engineers enabled the BBCode tag so that we could put images into our posts inline. Sometimes it would be helpful, sometimes it would be fun.
To prevent spamming, they could enforce a resize of maybe and limit the number of images per each post. And, if they don’t add a button to the toolbar but simply enable the tag, trolls who aren’t smart enough to know what BBCode is couldn’t abuse it. 
What do you guys think? Good idea?
Naw, linking to pictures is just fine with me. Especially if the limit would be of 200x200 pixels.

it would be, but unfortunately people would still abuse it and embed ‘unwanted’ images so it could cause alot of issues. Im fine with just links too because if there are alot of pictures it can reduce load times for pages and make the page too much photo sharing and less discussion.
it might work though if it is allowed for the people who reach say the Spartan Iron rank, which is 6001 posts, and if someone embeds an inappropriate image they are banned permanently/ deranked. The rank requirement wouldnt allow for them to quickly make a 2nd account and violate it again, so repeated offenders would be reduced. Also if it resized images smaller like you said it wouldnt be an eyesore, although it would still add to storage space on the servers which may be costly with lots of traffic.

Yeah, as I posted that I was thinking of all the reasons why they would never implement it. Too much room for abuse.
But you bring up some additional ways to prevent spamming, which are all pretty good ideas.
I guess since most forum members probably don’t know what BBCode even is, it’d be alot of work to appease a very select minority.

I would like to go with the same route for images that signatures did but people find it unfair that people who have posted a ton get things that really should be available to everyone.
Besides, linking the image works great, if you need the image for some sort of promotional thing, PM an admin, preferably bs angel and explain your situation, I believe she has done it in the past before.
Yes, this is a great idea. To prevent the abuse of this feature, it would be only available to ODST Iron and up. Similar the the Spartan rank and signatures.
