I have noticed on comments complaining how the map Bazaar is just a COD map, and that it does not look futuristic enough.
Firt off, Halo 2 would like a wordwith you, and secondly, towns today have building that are not modern, so why would a city in Halo suddenly have no old buildings at all? That is like walking into Rome, and complaining that Rome doesn’t look modern because you are in the area that was built during the Roman empire. Bazaar just happens to take place in an older part of New Mombassa.
and too those who are going to point at Halo 3: ODST and ask how the area you play could possibly be the same New Mombassa from Halo 2? Simple, ODST takes place in the newer part of the city.
Rome, London, New York, Tokyo, all these cities have areas with older buildings and areas with modern buildings. So Bazaar is very much possible in Infinite.
Greenskull made a short but informative video on this very subject a few hours ago - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOkneOXHbZw
Bazaar can definitely fit into Halo without problems, I really like this map myself

The fact people immediately thought Bazaar looked like a COD map and not de_dust didn’t surprise me, but did disappoint me.
I like Bazaar’s art and layout. The only issue I had on it was that if you left some visual effects on, like bloom, it made it kind of difficult to see inside the structures with darker interiors when you were outside in the “Sun’s” direct light. I turn these visual effects off usually so it isn’t a big deal, but felt it was worth noting.
As for anyone calling it a ‘COD map,’ I’d be interested to see some more thoughtful critique from that perspective. I haven’t found anyone elaborating beyond, “it looks like COD,” on the subject.

It has a similar layout to Showdown from MW1 but I’m certainly not mad about it. Love New Mombasa.

anyone complaining its not futuristic enough cant get enough of the gross Mass Effect armors from 4/5. I said it. sorry not sorry.
I don’t get why people were complaining about it in the first place. The map looks and feels really cool. I’m a big fan of Halo 2 and that map gave me such a nostalgic feel to it. I feel most people complaining about it didn’t really play the first three games much because all of the missions on earth for Halo 2 and 3 had older structures like Bazaar had. Layout wise maybe but even then the verticality the map has is better than cod (didn’t play cold war so don’t know those maps).
It’s weird some people seem to think that just because the game takes place in the future, that must mean we demolished all our cities and rebuilt them with a fresh new futuristic and sci-fi look! If that was the case we wouldn’t have any historical sites and locations today left to visit. It’s pretty unrealistic and nonsensical to assume in the Halo universe there are no historical locations that have been preserved and are still seeing regular use.
One of my top maps of all time is TURF from Halo2.
My favorite missions are Outskirts & Metropolis.
(Pls don’t flag me)
ICEBOX from Halo:Eldewrito was an AMAZING REMAKE.
Bazaar is going to fit right in for me, I am so happy for this, I get some great vibes here.
i actually think i liked bazaar the most out of the three, but i think i might get something about it not looking modern, I’m actually not really sure, was the ark portal under new mombasa, or more specifically, how heavily, if at all, was this area supposed to have been glassed, during the battle of earth and the cleansing of the flood in the area?
i mean, i don’t really know anything about the discussion on how modern its supposed to look, maybe you guys are referencing something else. but, if it was completely glassed i could see maybe a more modern architecture mixed with the mombasa style, something like how it is now, mixed with plaza from halo 5 aesthetics, but like, plaza in the day time.
as it is now, it looks a lot like it hasn’t been glassed before, but then again how many years has it been?
People immediately were crying COD, but I’m just here like H2 Turf and H2 campaign? That’s all I could think of, not COD, thus I’m loving it. Seems a lot of people were not apart of the glory days.

Speaking on MW1, it reminded me mostly of District (market) and Backlot (powerful elevated building spots), but I can definitely see Showdown with the narrow outer alleys and how square the main engagement area is with the facing bridges.

I was thinking exactly the same when I saw the map for the first time. Great map overall, maybe to much focus on the center of the map.
