Don’t wanna be the bad guy here but holy heck 343! If this is the final Battlepass which is shown on Videos from the latest HCS Event in the web right now…
A ton of emblems, swaps and doubling the camos for many weapons to fill in some spots and also the knee and shoulder armor? This is horrible to say the least, after waiting for such a long time between the seasons.
Please for season 4:
Put shoulder and knee armor into one tier and not the right and left into two different ones.
Don’t put the same camo for BR, AR etc into seperated tiers. Just as mentioned in point one.
Don’t exaggerate with the emblems to fill in spots, same goes for the swaps!
Also there’s no “padding it out” because it’s always 100 tiers. It’s less padding and more empty filler. I’m not very happy about this pass. It looks like we get the SPI core for free when the season starts so that’s good. Can’t believe they didn’t do this to start with. If the core is free then any cosmetics you put in the store is actually an option for everyone instead of the people who have already PAID for the pass. But man did you see the helmets? They’re straight up H5. Like 3 eva fishbowls an ODSTish helmet and two ungodly horrific helmets.
The update might be the best part, but the BP is probably not worth the money even if it’s only $10 or you have the credits from last season. This feels like it’s the resurgence of H5 content and I think I’m gonna vomit.
But it has digital leg warmers! Slipstream Vectorstrike armor effect, and that bug-eyed Viper helmet/attachment near the end will be fun to run around with.
I’m guessing the neon armor attachments from the trailer will be in the shop. I’m looking forward to the next event more TBH.
Spot on. If the game isn’t F2P, you can put cooler content out for battlepasses/microtransactions for cheaper.
It also helps cut down on smurfing, ban avoidance, etc.
F2P was an interesting experiment and I can’t say I fault them for trying this model as other games have had a lot of success with it to the point it started to feel like it might be the new standard. Ultimately, I think the experiment fails though and I hope future titles return to a paid game model.
It’s not that simple at all. The game is free to play. Ignoring the obvious that this entire game is built around microtransactions, do you honestly believe that this game would be any more profitable at this point if they announced mtx were going away and they required a $60 or $70 purchase (or optimistically a $30 purchase for just the multilayer)? No. That would only drive more people away.
While I don’t think the F2P model has been much of a success, you’re right that trying to retroactively “undo” that decision for Infinite would be a catastrophically worse blunder.
We have what we have. Cosmetics dont change gameplay, you can play this game 100% for free if you want. I’ve spent $20 total on this game through battle passes and ignore the store; still have more customization options than I’ll ever bother to use, with more coming each season now that they’ve added the “earn your credits back” to the battle passes. Overall I’d say that’s pretty darn good still.
I dont think we know this answer yet, unless they showed off what all 100 of the unlocks are. Season 4 will start after a shorter amount of time so i’d presume there’s credits in this one again. But we shall see.
Cool. That doesnt confirm if there will/wont be a Battlepass in season 4 as those credits can be used in the store too but i’d be willing to bet there will be a S4 Battlepass.
@343 can someone from the team jump in once in a while and confirm/deny things so we dont have to speculate…
Or you could just wait until next week and see what’s in it. Also they’ve said that moving forward they’re achieving seasonality. Do I have confidence in that? No not really, but I more less don’t care anymore. I’m just waiting to continue to be disappointed by what they do.
God I wish they could turn this ship around like they did with MCC, but it’s insanely hard to do that when most of your customers have abandoned ship, some workers forced overboard or transferred to another ship leaving you with a skeleton crew and the ship’s engine is busted and doesn’t run like it’s supposed to anyway.
