BattlePass. Prices, progression... Pretty normal by current standards?

Fair wack of hate for the new BattlePass.

But looking around the current state of online shooters… Is it really THAT much of a suprise? The BattlePass cost is on par with many other “season passes” cost wise. I think it’s about the same cost as a Rocket League Passes, actually, it’s WAY cheaper than any Destiny2 pass I’ve purchased. So that’s good. Paying for skins? $20 in credits for a simple skin? Looking across Apex/Destiny/etc. Yep, pretty standard affair cost wise as well and to add to that, none of that effects gameplay at all, it’s cosmetic. And you DON’T have to purchase any of it. XP progression? Yeah, fair enough, could use some work. Although, I’ve played games plagued by AFK’ers farming XP which makes the games horrible, so I like that aspect of it. Sometimes it pays to consider the negatives of the opposite too.

I guess in summary…There’s a lot of hate in here for the current state of the BattlePass. But… Love it or hate it, it’s pretty on par with the current state of “season passes” online in 2021 (again, doesn’t make it a good thing, but, it’s still a thing). Nothing has really suprised me so far. But I have purchased a number of season passes from a number of games.
