On Instagram just now, @houseofgaming made a post saying “A Halo Infinite BR has been confirmed”.
Don’t know whether this means battle royale or battle rifle but it seems to lean toward battle royale.
What do you guys think? Will it save the game?
We already have a battle rifle.
Personally, no. But a wave of fortnite kids might rush over to the game yelling, “HEY ITS MASTER CHIEF FROM FORTNITE”

I am super pumped for some sort of a high stakes mode, be it a BR or Escape from Tarkov type mode.
If a BR mode did launch using any or all of Zeta Halo as the map, it could be the greatest BR map of all time! Fly around in a wasp and you’ll see that Zeta Halo has everything that makes a BR map awesome. Lots of verticality, huge distinct landmarks, and large bridge crossing areas (to name a few things Zeta would have going for it).

I’m assuming they are talking about the “Last Man Standing” game type that appears if you go into customs while offline.
The description has something about earning better loadouts.
Could it be the wall (closing in?) that we see in the Season 2 announcement video?

Yes, I think it will be a variant. I think trying to add a full battle royale will put too much on their plate.
It should be interesting.
I don’t think a scavenge and build type of BR would work with Halo. Nor does it have to be 100 players spread super thin over huge maps.
20 odd players on a BTB size map would be fine. At least the combat dance would still be very Halo.
I don’t even think it needs to be a single life. Three would be fine. But I can see how that might drift a bit far from what BR fans would like.
I would envision looting to be more like just finding better weapon variants on the ground to trade your gun out for.
Like think of dropping in, and finding a vanilla Battle Rifle pretty quick. And then you survive and loot a little bit and find a different BR that has a suppressor (like in H5 Warzone) that you trade out for. And then later maybe you find a Battle Rifle with a longshot scope and extended barrel (like in H5 Warzone again).
So you wouldn’t loot individual gun upgrades and attach them. You would just find various rarities of the guns with various attachments baked in.
Honestly, if you took the H5 Warzone sandbox and PvE elements, but just threw the Battle Royal closing zone in… it could be so darn good…!

I assume we can discuss this as it isn’t a “leak” - it’s actually there in the game for everyone to read.
Every Spartan for themselves! Level Up your loadout by earning Personal Score to be the last Spartan standing
So you earn better weapons by scoring. But we don’t know if kills are the only way to score.
And it doesn’t mean we don’t have to scavenge for ammo, equipment, or other items.

I think we’re still goingto be looting for stuff for sure. Mostly because it doesn’t look like the player gets any new stuff when they’re getting kills and thrusting around the final circle in the S2 trailer.
Maybe we’ll see H4 style requisition drops as you increase your score? Then there’s a combo of looting and leveling yourself up…
Either way I’m pumped that LSS and Attrition are both going to be (hopefully) full time modes starting S2. (I don’t think LSS wil be only in event playlists, but I’m probably just being hopeful)

And it’s looking likely.
Although how it ends up finding the balance of traditional BR rules with Halo is anyone’s guess.
With the announcement of CA coming on board to helo Halo Infinite, leakers have started revealing that they’ve been holding onto information regarding CA actively developing a Battle Royale-like mode for Halo Infinite.
If this is true, will it save the game? I think for the most part, yes, because BR’s seem to be a trend that’s here to stay, but for a lot of us we’ll just hop to a different game, because eff BR’s! Fortnite disabled building and it was fun-ish, but I still can’t play for more than one game. BR’s are boring to me.
Remember that post that said “And whats with that dust cloud?..it looks pretty angy”?

Those are all being worked on by 343, while a different company (Certain Affinity) has only just recently started developing the mode we’re discussing, which won’t release until after midday of the things you’ve mentioned will have been addressed to some degree.

I was under the impression the “Last Man Standing” (Season 2) was different to the Certain Affinity mode (Season 3 or 4).
Which one do we think is the “BR” mode being discussed?
I always assumed the CA mode was more of a successor to Warzone / Firefight.
Both the modes, from the little we know, sound awesome.

No it isn’t. But I enjoyed Attrition. So I’d be keen for a bigger version.

i’d say, it’l save it… IF IT’S UNIQUE. it can’t just be a lazy copy and past, it has to be unique and different in some way (like the fun attrittion mode)… but like 343 is going to do that.
funny though… i recall a tweet stating ‘the only br we’re interested in is the battle rifle’… so if this is a battle royale, that was an bold face lie
I’m guessing most people don’t like battle royale modes due to external influences. Streamers, children, Fortnite mechanics.
Open world isn’t Halo but it was pretty fun and a good take on the game. It could be improved but they have time. Remember how bare bones Destiny was back in 2014.
Now considering the campaign has been built around a huge map… some sort of BR mode - whether it’s on a BTB map or Zeta Halo. The door has been opened.
But We must ride the dust storm to form our own opinions. Don’t forget your mask!
