Has there been any word on weather or not they will have a battle royal mode in Infinite?
Update:
343 has not hard confirmed BR mode will not be in the game at some point. It’s only been confirmed that the game will not launch with a BR mode. They have said the only BR they are interested in right now is the battle rifle, this does not mean a battle royal mode is off the table just not a priority for now.
So so please don’t leave a comment saying they will never do it, because they have not confirmed they won’t
No, there has been nothing about it having a Battle Royal in Infinite. The reason it took so long is because of making a brand new engine, making a game engine takes a fair amount of time.
Can we lock this thread? This subject has been discussed ad noseum and 343 have stated more than a few times that Battle Royale will never be a part of Halo.

Halo Infinite was never delayed. The only release date it has ever had was “Holiday 2020”.
There has been no confirmation if Infinite will have a BR mode.
We know effectively nothing about the game at all which is a bit surprising given that it’s releasing this year. Hopefully we will learn about the multiplayer flighting program soon because by this time during Halo 5 development, the multiplayer beta was finished.

I bet you’re fun at parties. And I have done some digging and have found nothing about 343 saying they will never have a battle royal mode. I have seen that it will for sure launch without it but there is nothing about them not adding in something post launch.

Again they did not say they wouldn’t do it. That is a very side stepping answer. It sounds like it’s not likely however they have not for sure said it won’t happen

While I have zero desire for a battle royale mode in Halo, I understand your point. My counter arguments would be the following:
More modes will further split the already dwindling population of Halo
I would rather have a quality over quantity approach to building each mode
However, I respect the desire for battle royale, and have zero hate towards it.

Because there is something called Resources.
And something like a Battle Royal Mode (w. quality) requires tons of Resources. Unless they are not 100% Community made Maps, something else has to be cut. Shorter campaign? No dev. made BTB Maps again?
If something has to be cut in the first place, I’d prefer to bring something new to the market with Halo’s own Assets. There’s probably no other FPS Franchise with so much potenial for new gamemodes. Space Battles, new FF Variants, new Infection variants (Linear?), benefit from the Halo Universe, give us something that would take the Multiplayer to the next Level.
I would enjoy it, but I would want it to have the following:
AI on the map (Elites, Grunts, etc.) that would only spawn in certain areas to add some spice - No multi-variant weapons (like how Halo 5 had 20 types of each weapon) - At least some reactive scenery (being able to break down walls, grass rustling as you walked over it) - Differing areas of the map (don’t have the whole map be the same, have cities, plains, military bases, Covenant areas, etc) - Vehicles - DONT BE A CASH GRAB
I will pass on the idea. While i can see where an ODST style version could exist, i just dont feel like the general gameplay of halo would fit the bill. plus, I am not a fan of the tiered armor system that tends to exist in that genre. That being said, could they innovate in the field? sure, but I think they should get the fundamentals right first (arena, social and forge) before expanding into systems.
