I like the beta, i think H5 will be a great game… but… this Battle Rifle is too similar to a DMR… i love (but not only me i think) the classic battle rifle…
I hope 343 restore it…
It’s just the sound of it. It’s still a 3 round burst, but you can barely hear it. It functions the same, it just doesn’t have the chirp of Halo 4 or the pronounced three-shot chunk sound of Halo 2 or 3 … it’s there, just really fast. It may have less of a spread than Halo 2 or 3 as well, but it’s pretty similar to Halo 4’s spread. I think the lower spread and high bullet magnetism is supposed to balance with the low aim-assist.
The burst is extremely close together; you almost have to know it even HAS a 3 round burst, otherwise it’d be easily mistaken for a single shot weapon. But it’s definitely there, rest assured.
yes there are 3 round burst… but… with slow fire (old BR) you can fail some round… with a fast fire, if you center the target, all rounds are entered…it’s too similar to a DMR… imho…

I think burst dont work with sprint and thrusters and now BR is just like little DMR. 343 wont their fanboys miss shots.
PD: Sprint sucks.
Its cyclic fire rate is way too high. It sounds like its semi auto rather than 3 round burst and so is too much like the DMR.
It may still be burst-fire, but it disperses bullets so fast that it doesn’t PLAY like a burst-fire weapon, rather it plays like a DMR clone. That’s the problem. The H4 BR felt more unique compared to the DMR, but here they feel exactly the same.
I’m pretty sure it fires so fast because the entire game is faster now, although the in the beta you could tell that it was a 3-shot burst if you listened closely. Now it just sounds like a single-shot weapon.
I like it, it’s cool, it is a new version of the BR (though the H4 version SUCKS)

Indeed, the H4 one sounded like crap and looked like crap.
imho, the H2A BR is perfect… i would like it in H5…

I felt the BR and DMR were very different in the Beta. DMR has more range. It can be used at any range but is a little more difficult to use a closer ranges. BR, still a 3 round burst. Its range is a bit more limited. Perfect for short to mid range but can still be used at a longer range but it is just a bit tougher to do.
I can hear the burst, it’s just faster and more realistic this way. Thats it, both are for different ranges.

I agree. During the beta I could hit much longer shots with the DMR. The BR did not seem to fire far.

I don’t understand how the BR can be mixed up with the DMR. In the beta they were very different. The BR was faster,burst, and mid-long range weapon. The DMR is a single shot weapon that is more long range. They are plenty different. I think it’s awesome that both the weapons are in the same game.
In my opinion the AR, BR, and DMR are the trifecta of perfect weapon design. I am very glad they are all making it into the game in their current form.
The Halo 5 BR and DMR function alot differently, being that they excel at different ranges. In comparison to it’s H2/H3 predecessor, it does in fact have less spread. There are pros tho. The registration will be much better, especially if the dedicated servers work as promised.

I would agree with this, I live the battle rifle from H2A sound and all.
I like the new br, maybe they should make it burst slower, I think the dmr is very different and I loved it in the beta, the dmr is one of my new favorite weapons
