Pretty simple really, I’ve been playing some Halo 3 multiplayer recently and I wanna hear some opinions on both of the weapons

io onestamente preferisco il fucile da battaglia, ma di tratta di gusti sono forti entrambe…

I mean the BR is far superior but the Carbine makes a neat backup weapon to finish off headshots or when a BR isn’t an option.
I always lean towards UNSC weapons.
The carbine is my favorite but the BR is the better option if your accuracy is on par.
I feel like the Carbine is more reliable in H3. I’m generally more likely to get sprees with the carbine than the BR. But H3 is the only game I feel like that about.
I feel like H3 downgraded almost all the returning weapons.

Yeah it really did, especially the shotgun but it wasn’t great in Halo 2 either tbh

I’d definitely agree because the BR can run out of ammo in its clip fast if you aren’t careful
va anche detto che la carabina covenant fa meno danni ma ha una cadenza di fuoco maggiore mentre la br fa più danni ma ha una cadenza minore
battle rifle always felt more accurate to me
The Battle Rifle is a better performing weapon overall. The Carbine is a nice backup weapon for those situations where you run out of BR ammo in a ranged fight.
Here is a video comparing the BR and Carbine TTK.
https://youtu.be/NCOzpPUssqw?t=33
(THIS IS NOT MY VIDEO AND TAKE NO CREDIT)
TL:DR -
- Both have the same TTK with all headshots (2.55s) - With only body shots, the carbine has a VERY SLIGHTLY faster TTK (2.43 compared to 2.85) but most of the time nobody will go for only body shots. - BR reload speed is 1.6 second while carbine is 1.9 seconds. - BR has a 3 round burst and very small vertical recoil. The carbine has vertical recoil but it usually resets after each shot rather than the BR resetting after each burst. - BR has better magnetism,It’s honestly up to personal preference and the differences are pretty minor but from the analysis I would actually say the the carbine is better than the BR.
I prefer the Battle RIfle but I wont hesitate to pick up a carbine every now and then.

If so, do you like the BR or DMR more?

Yeah, that’s what I’ve mostly been using it for recently
Definitely going with my ole gal BR she’s dependable and beautiful!

DMR for sure!
With nearly every case, the BR is a much better weapon than the covenant equivalent.
I personally like the carbine more.
I’d say the carbine is more readily available for ammo pickups in halo three, maybe more sustainable in halo three than it’s halo four counterpart. In halo four the magnum and boltshot start to fill the sustainable precision roll a lot more often than you’d think they would.
