The DMR is intened to be a long range weapon. It is supposed to dominate on big maps along with the Light Rifle. The only nerfing the DMR needs is at close range. It does not need to be nerfed at long range. I feel that a decrease in the DMR’s ROF would balance it out nicely.
> -The ammount of shoots you need to kill a player with the Br is around 7-9 while with the DMR is 4-5.
DMR :
4 shots to remove shield + one to the head to kill
BR :
4 bursts to remove shield + one to the head to kill
the DMR is more precise and fires a bit faster though but since it’s not a burst fire weapon it’s a bit harder to hit. (not taking autoaim and bullet magnetism in count).
that makes one weapon stronger than the other at ANY range.
There are a few inaccuracies in your post. Such as the Battle Rifle suffering from bloom(it does not), and the amount of shots needed to kill(both rifles only require 5).
To balance out the BR, it should take 11 shots to kill, with slightly reduced recoil. The Battle Rifle in its current state is a very random weapon, and has nearly no purpose in Halo 4’s weapon sandbox.

BR is the most balanced weapon in the game. The DMR needs a ROF decrease and the Carbine needs some sort of buff. BR is competitive with the other weapons in the sandbox. It serves as a “jack-of-all-trades” weapon.

It’s an inconsistent, slow-killing mess. The BR is hardly balanced. It’s practically the Vanilla Reach DMR.

Quit acting like the DMR and the BR are the only two weapons in the game. There are 5 other primaries. The BR is not supposed to dominate at one type of range like the Light Rifle. It is supposed to be able to hold it’s own at all ranges. The drawback of this is that weapons like the LR will beat it at long range and the Carbine (should) beat it at short range.

I made the amount of shoots to kill based on my observations. Of course, if people aren’t using the “resistance” perk which i forgot the name, it will take less shoots.
