I feel the 4 precision weapons are balanced enough to enjoy gameplay with all of them.
If I were to join a tourney, sure, BR it is. But playing MM in general, I can expect to have similar results with all of them. I actually think for me the most FUN would be LR + Carbine (Firepower) in BTB.
I feel like one of the few people that uses the Carbine and LR. Carbine dominates the BR…and LR kills the DMR at long range…sometimes medium range too.
I to loved the carbine, but the Br is easier and more forgiving, you miss a shot with the carbine you’re screwed, you’ve got three shots shooting and being magnetized to their heads with the Br so you can’t really miss.
Thus the over abundance of easy weapons, DMR at PRE patch and BR post patch, killed halo 4 for me, and an abundance of players in this game.
And the only ones saying “adapt or die” are the ones -Yoink!- these weapons, so they see no problem with them
I prefer Carbine too. I don’t see how infinity slayer is DMR fest. Br is the most used in any mode with loadouts. Sure it was DMR before the update but it won’t change the thing that now it is the Br that is used the most, because it is the most useful on H4 maps with carbine.

No it’s not. With a BR you have to account for a 3-round burst, and you don’t have nearly the same level of versatility. The pre-patch DMR was superior to all the other primary options in every way. The post-patch BR isn’t.

Oh, sure it’s easier to just hit an enemy, but when your shot’s damage is split into a burst, it is quite easy to partially miss, and only deal a fraction of damage. That doesn’t happen with the DMR, it’s always a 5-shot.

So are you the type of player that wants Halo to continue being less Halo and more COD/BF in the sense that anyone can pick any weapon in any situation and it doesn’t matter? So what BR and DMR are the top used weapons. And? If you choose to use an automatic weapon ineffectively, or in a situation that doesn’t call for it, or on a map it doesn’t make sense on then you should get dominated. You wanting to use an auto weapon in all situations is nobody’s problem but your own. And guess what, all guns in Halo 4 are extremely easy to shoot with. Change your approach to battles if you find yourself getting dominated by a BR all too often. And if you are playing to win and are constantly putting yourself in a position where the BR is your best bet, and you choose not to use the BR in those situations you are consciously putting yourself in, then that is your fault. I’ve seen plenty of players not use the BR have a perfectly fine time defending themselves once they started using fore-thought in their decision making and map movements.
On a side note the idea of “let me pick whatever weapon I want and have an equal chance at winning in most situations” is ridiculous and noobish. If the problem is that there are not enough maps or areas on a map to use certain weapons in ways they should be able to work, then that is a map design problem. And guess what, having something like sprint that forces map scale up will definitely impact your ability to use autos even in situations where they should be more effective. Don’t hate the BR or DMR for 343’s incompetence.

And maybe it wouldn’t kill the game for a weapon to perform out of it niche,I hate CoD for everything about it,but I’m a heavy battlefield player now.
And being able to push a weapon to its limits to show everyone up with an underrated weapon.
Stop taking it up the pooper from 343 with these weapon “balances” and try to dominate with a weapon that takes skill
I used to destroy people with my assault rifle in h4, but when EVERYONE and their mothers started using that annoying BR, it got overwhelming and I bailed
Maybe I’m biased being a BR user but I don’t see why people complain about the automatic weapons being inferior to Rifles. At close range, the automatics destroy worlds. Even at a decent range they can give rifles a real good run for their money. If your using it at long range, your using it wrong and probably will be wanting to use a rifle like the BR. Play to the weapons advantages and you will do more than fine.
The BR may be ruining the game for you but AR on host is ruining it for me
