Battle proficiency ratIng

Does anyone know the determinate of waypoints BPR? I personally have a 100 BPR, I don’t know if this is excellent or just decent seeing as I can’t view other people’s (that I know of) and I have no idea what rates it

It takes kills, deaths and assists from Arena, Competitive and Firefight.

> It takes kills, deaths and assists from Arena, Competitive and Firefight.

Pretty sure it’s more than just that.

OP - I don’t think there’s ever been an official declaration of what’s involved with calculating the BPR but I suspect it’s more complex than just K/D or K/D/A.

It’s not an accurate rating of skill to say the least…

According to the little popup, it also includes wins and betrayals. There may be other variables not listed, though.

> Battle Proficiency Rating (BPR) is a number between 1 and 100 representing a players overall skill in Halo: Reachs Multiplayer mode. This rating tracks your Kills, Wins, Assists, Deaths, and Betrayals across all matches played. You must play at least 10 Invasion, Arena or Competitive games for this number to be calculated.

Ha, well then. There you go.

How exactly have you come to this conclusion? Because if I had to rate myself I’d say 100 lol. It’s certainly a better skill reference than a players reach rank which is merely a matter of playing games. Which is why I wish the BPR was displayed elsewhere so other players can see it. Now that I’m saying this I realize that I just yearn for a less call of duty like ranking system. You know, not all players are good enough to achieve the rank they want so I guess they just made it easier for the noob majority. (and CoD loves to appeal to that majority)

lol you’d rate yourself 100

I’m pretty sure Firefight doesn’t count.

I don’t get the joke

Chill guys, I’ve actually had a healthy discussion about this with my closer Halo buds in the last 24hours.

There are a number of problems, the first of which is that you just don’t know how the factors are computed to result in a value.

And it should be a relative value, which means that it’s going to be so much like a bell shape curve that the reality is only close for the medium 20% or so.

And if it’s NOT a relative value, then it was never meant to be a globally recognized skill assessment.

So in either case, basing your assumptions on each others “Skill” is a moot point when it comes to BPR.

Either the number attempts to mean something and is only accurate for a small fraction of people, or the number is arbitrary and not worth your time anyway.

Make Sense?

Yeah so what you’re saying is that if I want to prove I’m better than somebody I have to do it the old fashion way and beat them in a 1v1, got it.
That being said, I’d like to challenge Red Pidgeon up there

On another note, does anybody have a 100 BPR? Because I don’t know anybody else who does… I’m sure there out there and I need some better teammates. I know it doesn’t matter and all, but if it’s putting your K/D into considertion I’d say it’s a decent qualifier.

My BPR is 68. Like the Guywiired said, it probably only comes within 20%. I’d say in reality, if it were right, I’d be a 75.

He was actually a 49 in H3. Not that achieving a 100 BPR is nearly on the level of attaining a 50 in H3, but at least he’s like not a field major btb stat -Yoink!- who loses to anything but randoms and guests. Anyone with a half decent service record will have a 100 BPR, hence it’s low weighting when determining a players skill.

I will leave it at that…

Sitting on a 73. I think I’m pretty terrible and I let my kids use my account, so having over 50 tells me this number doesn’t mean much.

I don’t know anyone personally with a BPR of 100, as I hang with a much more casual crowd.

But I’ve seen several profiles with a BPR of 100, it’s actually not was rare as you might think, and you’ll likely find more 100 BPR players on the Waypoint forums than in game.

You can see a players BPR by looking at their service record, here’s mine.

You can use the search box at the top right of your window to find other player’s service records.

anyone above a 40 in H3 most likely has a 100 BPR in Reach. You need better friends :stuck_out_tongue:
