Battle pass

i hate the idea of having a battle pass in the new halo i would rather have the packs like halo 5

Too each his or her own, I don’t mind it. I am just happy all maps and pvp content will be free, then I don’t mind how they make their money other ways. I hated splitting the population. I would always buy map packs, only to find out I would never get to play on those maps.

I’m not sure REQ packs and a battlepass are even really comparable. But I believe what they were getting at/trying to get away from was the randomness of unlocks. Since the first day of H5, I had been trying to get the Helljumper helmet. Grinding through levels and points to unlock packs. I FINALLY got it at level 130. It wasn’t that it had to be unlocked at 130 (to my understanding), it was that it was just random to the point where that’s just how long it took. At least with this pass, you get to see the content, where it is in the pass, and can have an idea of what it will take to unlock it. REQ packs never had that.

Agree, with the battlepass i can actually size the benefits of purchase

The BattlePass is free, you level it up from just playing the game and completing challenges. There’s also a paid route for more unlocks.

Halo 5’s REQ unlock “progression” was just a bunch of random unlocks. You could easily slap down a chunk of money and unlock a bunch of REQS to beat your opponents in Warzone.
I could easily use all my Microsoft reward points to buy a bunch of Nornfang weapon packs and just spam them all game and one shot everyone with it. REQS packs have pay to win elements in there, pay to win is generally accepted as a bad thing.

The BattlePass is a infinitely better system for the majority of players. Especially considering you’ll have access to the BattlePasses that release indefinitely.
There’s little to no pressure to put money down to unlock items.
The store sells dedicated items too, no random loot boxes, you’re just buying what you want.

I’d much prefer a roadmap to obtain what I want than a randomized way to obtain customization options.

It would be cool if eventually they had both. I like RNG loot but the progression system is more favorable. Wearing certain gear shows off skill and time played. Halo 5 was random and could give a noob a Mythic helmet within the first couple matches. Inheritor in Reach is a prime example.

I like it, but at the same time it’s seems like every customization will be payed for through the battlepass. Unless we can unlock things for free overtime than it won’t feel very good.

I MUCH prefer battle passes. Love them in Fortnite.

I prefer a battle pass progression system to the packs cos at least u know what you are getting and the cooler rewards aren’t random drops and require the same amount of grind to all players to get.

Not a fan of Battle Pass but I despise the loot box system even more so no thanks.

Are you actually saying you would prefer loot-boxes over essentially just a progression unlock system?

I don’t mind the battle pass but 343i should change how exp works, the current system of only getting exp for goal completion is not good.

I’m not a huge fan of battle passes but I think with Infinite this is probably the best we’re going to get even comparing it to other games on the market right now. Req packs were awful in Halo 5 and were pretty much only there to sell you reqs for Warzone. I would have been more ok with them (still wouldn’t like them) if that’s all that was in the packs but armour, weapon skins, variants, etc. were all randomly mixed in with them as well which made them horrible if you didn’t pay for them.

Man I would really love to just go back to the Halo Reach system! then they could add more unlocks to the system over time rather than the “battlepass” thing.

I like the Battlepass system more than Halo 5’s req packs.
The Battlepass definitely needs some improvement, but it gives me a much better sense of progression and a chance to earn some cool stuff.

I’d like to remind everyone that you can buy any battle pass when it comes out and after the next one comes out. They never go away, and you can pick which one you want to work on.

Yes that is what I like about the direction 343 are going with the battle pass. Not just a one and done kind of deal, it will always be there for future players.
