Battle Pass needs XP progression for just playing.

Infinite on release may be totally different, but at least for the moment, the way the Battle Pass works gaining only progression from Challenges means it stalls out way before you can max it (20 levels) out.

Gaining nothing towards the only real progression system/rewards from just playing the game would be a mistake (in my opinion), and it doesn’t really need to be a lot of XP at all from matches.
Challenges being your big jumps is fine; 343 may already be all over this, AND of course you’d get new Weekly Challenges in the actual game, but for the Flight and for those just playing (not looking at Challenges) I feel you should gain something from just play time.

Love from a ‘Forever Level 8 in the Battle Pass’ player, haha.

Edited: (in my opinion)

I think ODST+ bots should count as PvP at least.

The issue with that for Challenges or maybe other ways of gaining XP is potential for boosting or abuse of the system, I guess.

I like the idea of only getting xp from challenges. That solves the problem of players going AFK in games to farm XP. I am tired of seeing players progress in Xp for doing absolutely nothing but being an anchor for a team trying to play the game.

100% AGREED

It should be like that in the full game

This is a very sticky situation. If I am going to spend money on a Battle Pass, I want all of my game time to count toward unlocking everything. But if you make completing games count, then yes, there will be rampant AFK going on. Maybe have medals earned per game count toward progression. That way you will need to play the game.

Same. If the game launches with the same limitation, the incentive to keep us grinding will be short lived.

To the guys saying afk will become rampant. Try doing it in the tech test. I’m willing to bet you don’t finish the match.
