Battle pass doesn’t expire?

What does this mean exactly? Does it mean we’ll be able to progress our rank as high as we want to? That’d be frickin sweet. The 100 rank cap was one of the worst decisions in the history of Halo if you ask me. Pretty sure I got that within weeks lol

No, it caps at 100… think MCC, if you buy the season 1 BP and don’t complete it in 1 season, you’ll still be able to go back and do it during season 2 or any subsequent season.

Every paid Battle Pass has no timer on it, like free Event Battle Passes are limited time only. Paid Battle Passes stay for the rest of the game, and not all of them will have 100 levels, but you can only earn XP for one at a time, by selecting the one you want to earn XP for.

Battle passes never goes away, you are able to switch between BPs to put progress into, if you skip a battlepass (as in dont buy it) you can still purchase it, even after the season ends

This is actually kind of funny mechanic really. They also marketed the Battle pass with the “You can complete it any time even when a new season starts”

But people completed the battle pass literally around the first month. Like I would be surprised if you still doing your battle pass when season 2 comes out.

Probably designed for the 20 million people that stopped playing, and might not come back for years. Then they can give 343 money if they want to when they do eventually play. At least, that sounds like a 343 plan. Now or later, money is money.

Well remember that there were complaints that progression was far too slow.

Hell my own progression at 15 hours in had me leveling up at about 1 level every 3 hours while boosted, I calculated it would’ve taken about 195 hours to unlock just the ODST helmet at level 65.

Things changed rather starkly rather quickly, possibly even a little too favorably.

I’m just sayin if there was a grind like the Halo 5 152 rank I would have a reason to play every single day and have fun with it.

Most video games have a leveling system like getting to 152 in halo 5 and also a new battle pass every few months where you level up separately. Apparently noone told 343 that when they were developing this game

it still caps at whatever the pass cap is, but just because it’s a new season doesn’t mean you can’t finish a pass. You should (as previously stated by 343i) be able to choose which pass to progress in as you wish. Something similar to MCC, but we’ve been told in the past about choices in Infinite that were total and complete lies. /cough/ “customization will be earned, unlockable and not behind a paywall” /cough/

This is the most accurate answer.

Just want to clarify, SEASONAL battle passes never expire, you don’t have to buy them.

Damn right. Progression is central to the the Halo MP experience. It was a Reach everyday for me just to hit that Inheritor mark.

I have a couple friends who have been extremely busy with school to the tune of senior capstone projects etc, who haven’t been able to play very much at all and are still working on their passes. I like that it leaves a window for those who can’t play as often.

assuming 343 isn’t pulling another half fib and would have us double pay… ya know, once to re-use old bps and another payment to get its premium, but because its old, the price for it will be jacked up by a couple bucks -v-

No it means the battle pass will still exist aftet the season ends unlike every other game with a bp. So you can continue progressing through it at any time after this season is over. You can also still purchase it after the season end as well even if you missed season 1.

From what they say, you basically swap passes that you are working on. You select season 1 then any challenge XP goes toward Season 1 until complete. You select season 2, all XP goes toward season 2. You can change at any time, but you can only progress through 1 pass at a time. the XP does no add to both.

As someone who grinded H5 that much, no, it takes the fun away after you enter your 800th hour playing the most effective way to get there and then it becomes a test of will. Then again I dont think we’ll ever get a grind as hard as reaching 152 again anytime soon.

Nope. Hardcore grinders like myself end up with nothing to play for besides the fun of the game which is cool and all but it’s still a dumb decision.

I miss the grind. Even after playing consistently for years it was cool you had something to progress.
