Battle of Noctus is hurting Warzone

When 343i showed off footage of the Battle of Noctus map for Halo 5, I was very impressed. Having a grand battle in the middle of the city seemed like a great idea, and waging war behind abandoned vehicles looked awesome.

Except it didn’t turn out to be cool, instead it’s a gigantic space filled with nothing. Seriously, I don’t think 343i could make this map any more bland if they tried.

It’s not just the map design, either. Having two garages THE SIZE OF THE MAIN BASE IN A.R.C is a terrible idea. This makes capturing and fortifying bases much harder than it needs to be.

Please, don’t create another garbage Warzone map. I almost feel like sitting the game whenever Battke if Noctus is selected.

Escape from ARC has been doing that for a long time… Noctus just exemplified the BR-Camp/Sniperfest aspect of Warzone. ARC has that problem in addition to several others.

Battle of noctus is one of my favourite maps.
I feel like urban is the worst, its to easy to get surrounded with not much cover.

i really like noctus, i hate the insane br campers but other than that i really like the map, it doesnt feel as linear as the others

For future maps, it would be nice to use something different besides the same old human bases and garages. The spire and monument bases are pretty much the only variety we’ve had so far, but they’re surrounded by human pieces. Can we get an all Covenant map please? I also thought the Noctus map would have several levels after looking at the concept art, but I was a little disappointed with the end result.

Call me when 343i decides to make bases unique to each map. Can’t imagine playing Invasion where you had to capture the same exact base on every map before going onto the next round.

the whole thing about warzone is that its a “simulation” put on by the UNSC. so honestly 343 can use that as a crutch to create the same bases

one annoying thing about Battle of Noctus is the fact that 343 said it would be a Vehicular-based map, the only annoying part about that is the fact that there is SO MUCH FRICKIN DEBRIS ON THE FRICKIN ROAD. If they say it’s suitable for this kind of play, don’t make it hard for the gameplay intended.

Also another thing, Yea i agree that we need more unique map pieces such as bases and Garages, but one other thing i think would be interesting would be a req that calls in NPC Marines as a fireteam that follows, then the second upgrade would be ODST, Marines would have the same health as the ones that guard bases and ODST have slightly more health and better firepower, might unbalance the game, but i like the idea of it.

Each map has a different lay out and feel. I personally like it when the two secondary bases are farther away from each other, like Apex 7 and March on Stormfront. However, I understand that ARC and Noctus have different playstyles. Originally, I thought Noctus was going to be an awesome vehicle map. But I never play in vehicles there, I’m always running infantry, because I’m tired of being a sitting duck to the long sightlines that are in Noctus. I do hope the next Warzone map is more linear than round.

This would be awesome.
