This isn’t my main account (keep getting 500 internal server error whenever I try to sign on to Shawn997) but I just wanted to comment regarding the increase in base movement speed for ALL playlists. I am honestly almost as excited about the possibility of strafing actually making a difference in 1v1 battles as I am about the weapon rebalancing. Thoughts?
Not sure what all the hype is about, across every single halo game base movement has been the same. Now players will move faster than ever before. I’m a bit nervous it will negatively impact gameplay.

I suggest you take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCJ0hHFdUPY if you believe movement speed has been the same.

Exactly, I made a thread about this combined with instant respawn and sprint. How it could create imbalance.

TBH, why would we want to increase base speed movement if we have built-in Sprint? However, if we had a Classic Playlist, then base movement increase would go.
HINT: Just a friendly reminder, there is a rule on these forums on using alternate accounts. Since your new, I’m guessing, refer to Halo Waypoint Forum Rules

That’s not true. Halo 1 was faster than 2, 2 faster than 3, 3 faster than Reach. For some reason Bungie slowed movement speed in every game. Halo 4’s base movement speed as it stands now is as fast as H3. Plus its not a huge jump 343i is making, they’re only going from 100% to 110%. With the faster weapon kill times I think this is a good move.

Yea. It’s the same

Nope. According to http://tiedtheleader.com/2012/11/16/halo-analysis-strafing/ Halo 1-3 was slightly faster. Plus the increased bullet magnetism makes strafing less effective in Halo 4.

Increasing base movement speed is a good way to balance out the insane bullet magnetism in this game.
This should be a good change.

No, it’s not. Bungie clearly stated they were different among the games. Even 343 did when they increased the movement speed in the TU to “Halo 3 speed.”

For a Classic Playlist (If it appeared in the game, base movement speed would work perfectly)
For now, with INF Playlists, then no, b/c you have Sprint and Mobility.

Please explain how sprint+mobility increases strafing effectiveness in 1v1 battles. Sprint and mobility help players to navigate the maps faster, but does NOT assist in 1v1 battles.
