You are probably going to get banned but there is nothing more frustrating in CTF than people who camp at the base.
5v5 Settler is the worst. I always play with one guest and when three people on our team camp at our base all game, how do they expect us to cap five -Yoinking!- flags when it’s usually 2v4 or 5 when we go to get it?
This is worse than automatically having to pick up the flag and then not being able to drop it.

Well a fact is a fact and remember when you talk of mods banning someone those narcs probaly take it as an endorsement.Besides Im so sick of camping on Rag I mean even the Mantis is prone to hiding behind its own base its so lame I am a loss for words.
I always go for the Spartan Laser immediately on Ragnarok for that exact reason. I shoot the Mantis even if nobody has taken it.
I don’t even like when someone on my team is using the Mantis.

classic scenario. 2 players magically disappear whilst collecting 40 plus kills whilst you and your mates repeatedly die trying to achieve the objective and you ultimately lose. settler has to be the worst map for -Yoinks!- who think that racking up a big kill death spread makes you good.
I won’t even start on how bad infinity ctf makes this even worse
I never vote for Infinity CTF. It shouldn’t even be an option.

I am a fan of the mantis myself but always target an enemy 1.That said seeing player hide behind their own base in a mantis is incredibly sad.
Camping on larger CTF maps has always plagued MM. Halo 4, Halo Reach and Halo 3 all had these problems.
It is incredibly annoying as it turns into a standstill or games turn into slayer matches as no-one tries to go for the flag.
But…that’s part of the game…
You know, defending your flag? Yeah.

Nobody ever said it wasn’t.

I think what these people are saying is the people who literally sit beside their flag the entire match, just waiting for someone to come.
There is no error in keeping close proximity to your flag to ensure no enemies get their fingers on it, but to crouch 5 feet beside your flag, power weapon in hand or not, and just wait is a little annoying, but it is a legitimate strategy.
lol don’t forget the 30 sec respawn sniper and the glitched active camo
Ragnarok is broken

It’s exactly what I do. The world should be a little bit happier that it isn’t as easy to acquire a shotgun on Ragnarok as it was in Hemorrhage. It’d be all I’d day on Ragnarok in Objective.

It’s not a legitimate strategy. The only time you are possibly helping your team is when you are literally defending the flag. All the other times, your team is shorthanded outside the base while you just sit in there and wait for 5 of the other team to kill 4 of your team and then make their way to your base.
Here’s an example: Let’s say I’m a defenseman in the NHL. All I want to do is play defence. I never cross the blue line into the offensive zone, even if my team is on a powerplay. Any time my team is on offense, they are now shorthanded. Does it seem like a legitimate strategy anymore?
It’s garbage. Play defense when your team needs defense and play offense when your team needs offense.

When I’m in a party, my group never falters without me on the battlefield. They do just great, and should the off-chance be that the enemy tries a ninja grab? They get buckshot to the face. I think you’re just mad because it’s so easy to fill this role on a team and it isn’t how you play.

I just think it’s quite cheap to be honest and very unsportmanlike. But that’s just my opinion.

The British thought the guerilla soldiers fighting for the American Revolution were unsportsmanlike as well, as they didn’t stand in lines and wait to get blown up.

It is indeed a legitimate strategy. Maybe not the most sound one, but it is a strategy.
This is a game, not real life, nothing but your “ego” is at stake. I don’t really know why you’re comparing historical events to a simulation.
Edit : In a game we respawn, I have yet to see anyone respawn in real life.

My point is, I can say with just about complete confidence that the only reason people may dislike super close flag defense is that they probably got a face full of shotty one too many times by the folks who play like that. They got real salty about it.
