I’ve noticed, theres not that many people that are discussing ideas relating to the campaign. Why? Has everybody forgotten about it? I know there isn’t much info released on it, and is a little hard to discuss about at the moment, but we can still have open discussion on what WE think could happen in the story. Like… Why are the Covanent attacking? What will the environments look like? How will the story unfold/ What do you think will be a possible climax in Halo 4’s story? How do you think John will respond to Cortana’s madness?(if) etc…
I have posted many threads regarding the campaign, but they just don’t get the attention, especially with all the multiplayer talk that’s going around now. Maybe when we get a trailer, or some campaign news, there will be much more attention towards those matters.
People are too focused on how badly the MM sucks. How Halo 4 will completely fail. How 343i has completely let us down. How it will be CoD rip-off or Reach 2.0
OT: I would like to see more info on campaign. Maybe that would calm some of the restless ragers who lurk here, always.

Yes, some people think too much about those things. Campaign is just as important, to me anyway.

Agreed.
As you guys stated, majority of the people on here are concerned with MM. When new(campaign) info is released, hopefully some of the members will turn their attention to the campaign, because Halo isn’t just about the MM. It has a rich, and compelling story that I absolutely enjoy. I mean thats how Halo was first started, with Halo CE and its story. Not the MM aspect (at least IMO).
You know, the less they reveal for Campaign, the more excited people will be. The less we know about the story the better. I mean we don’t know how this one play out, let alone end (unlike Reach) so 343’s got to be careful and keep the surprise factor until release date.
I predict a huge Campaign reveal or details come E3 though.
Cuz everyone knows its gonna be awesome.
Just be surprised when you play it.
Agreed, they shouldn’t release that much info, at most, I say just a tiny sliver of campaign info should be released sometime between now and release just to show the community that the story is going in the right direction (whatever the direction may be). As TiagoPORTUGAL and A Critical H1T said, its best we be suprised. (In a good way though)
The problem is that the campaigns after H2 have been small scale, limited, and sub par in scope, length, immersion, and intensity.
There isn’t much of a challenge without turning on skulls.
There isn’t much of a story. It’s just action. Also, cinematics tend to steal a lot of gameplay/spotlight.
There isn’t much of a battle. It’s just room to room combat or running past the enemies.
There isn’t much immersion. I’m not asking for absolute realism. I’m asking for a proper amount of it. Teleporting invincible friendly AI, bad AI drivers, kamikaze pilots, random splattering debris or scenery items, and sticking allies are examples of immersion breaking.
AI in CE didn’t stick each other that often because they only threw grenades when they were being shot at or needed to go to cover. Splattering wasn’t a big issue either since things didn’t go flying like crazy. AI driving was poor but limited to Ghosts and Wraiths. Banshees in CE did kamikaze the right way: they focused on the player. Johnson was just another marine who could be killed for good but did that make a difference? People tried to preserve him, just because of how badass he is. Friendly AI in CE were actually worth saving.
And most importantly, the game didn’t do things for you. The Pelican on S117, Arbiter and Noble Team, and the Pelicans on LNoS are really annoying when they take kills for you. I basically wasted ammo and time.
From what I’ve seen, people would rather play campaign with their friends than alone.
I’m certain there was a lot of talk and enthusiasm for campaign back when CE and H2 were out.
Nowadays, campaign is just regarded as backup, something people fall back to if MM ends up disappointing. I’m starting to suspect 343 are trying to drive people to it with their changes.

Yeah, the stories did become a little stale in the sequels (when comparing the Halo CE). They need the immersion, sense of realism w/o going too far, back. 343 did say they were making it feel like Halo CE, so we’ll see. I just hope they dont focus too much on MM, because that isnt just what makes Halo, Halo. Halo has always had a pretty good storyline. And that would be funny if they were changing the MM to drive peopleto the campaign.
