Banshees....

I don’t complain about many units that often. Overpowered units is a great challenge to overcome…but…

Basnhees are ridiculous to stop. I know many threads to knock em’ already…but they are some damn ridiculous I had to make my own.

Did a 2v2 with a random to try and get back my Champion Status (haven’t played 2s all week due to work and 2s partner not on). Decided to go Johnson. Random partner went Isabel. We pushed early and took out their expansions. Decided to hit their Isabel first (Opponent’s were Isabel/Colony) because of the broken shield mechanics. Try to knock the easier base first.

The initial push only killed there expos but we weren’t able to do much damage to Isabel’s main base besides take out 2 out 5 buildings (He was tech 2 but wasn’t able to que up any buildings trying to defend the attack).

Now my partner and I had all the nodes, 2nd bases already built. Already knew the Banshee swarm was coming so we both went wolverines.

  • I had majority marines, several wolverines (all upgraded T3) and several snipers to handle cyclops. - Partner went shielded tanks/nightingales, and wolverines. - Enemy Isabel primarily went cyclops, nightingales, wolverines. (later started adding in regular tanks. we were ahead tech wise) - Colony went mass banshees. Literally that was it. Don’t even think he built a single unit different. Maybe a grunt mid game to steal a power node.Now when all 4 armies ran into each other. Enemy Isabel’s army dropped like flies. Drop an EMP on Isabel/Colony’s units. Colony drops the engineer swarm and heals right through the EMP and getting hit by RPG marines and wolves from both my partner and I. Sadly, banshees tore right through them suffering only minimal casualties.

That was the end of the game. We had map control and could produce units at an advanced rate. But there was a looming red mass on the radar that couldn’t be stopped lol.

and I know…we lost that match as soon as we both went UNSC. But gah damn! Freaking Banshees bro! Tears roll down cheeks
