Banshee Types/Settings

I just wanted to quickly ask the community if they thought that it would be a good idea if there were two different banshee types. I was thinking that there would be a Halo reach version where it was extremely powerful and maneuverable and and more halo 2/3 version that was slower and greatly more balanced. Overall I think that the halo 2/3 banshee is just better suited for general gameplay but I enjoyed the benefits of the Reach banshees speed when it came to dogfights with other banshees. That was something that I felt was lost in halo 4. So do you think that different types or even just changing settings for the banshee would be a nice idea? It could get a bit difficult with balancing and maybe a bit repetitive and crowding to have multiple types.

I wouldn’t mind the pretty and functional ODST Banshee. It could stop and move straight down and it was super shiny (I just love the green over the purple) and very elegant looking. Otherwise it was much the same as the Halo 3 Banshee, meaning its defensive and offensive capabilities were pretty balanced. I liked the unlimited boost and the immunity to regular infantry weapons as well. Maybe they could add another variant to Forge without the Banshee bomb.

I suppose the unsightly paper Reach/Halo 4 Banshee could return alongside it as a slightly faster, more compact stubby-winged Banshee with limited boost and much weaker defense and much stronger offense, using agility and the Banshee bomb primarily to kill enemies and vehicles.

That would add some variety to the game and it would make Forge and Custom Games a lot more interesting, let alone Matchmaking and Campaign. Pair them with different Hornet and Falcon variants and Halo won’t have to worry about a lack of air vehicles ever again.

I like the idea of this. Perhaps Covenant and Fleet of Retribution variants, each with their own special abilities and stats. That would be interesting.

I’m honestly getting tired of seeing Reach’s banshee getting recycled for three games in a row, and I’d love for the original design to come back.

But like Lehnaru said above, it would be best if we had both versions each with unique functions. The original Banshee should function like it did in ODST, with the hover ability, strafing barrel rolls, straight firing fuel rod, and stronger armor. Reach’s version would function like it did in Reach, with weaker armor, evasive barrel rolls, and maybe a fuel rod with lock on capabilities at the expense of the projectile dropping when fired.

I wouldn’t mind being able to fly the space Banshee from Reach for once either.

I liked the Halo 4 Banshee, the only problem with it and the rest of Halo Banshees except the Halo CE that we can stand/float at one place, I mean in Halo CE we can bless the others with plasma “bullet” while we just “standing” but from H2 the banshee just go staright and you can’t stop it max by the wall or any objects.

I prefer the Reach/4 variant but if they brought the original model back alongside the newer better one with unique traits that’d be cool.

All I really want changed for the Banshee is the sound the Banshee bomb makes when it’s fired; sounds too much like a friggin’ duck to me.

Maybe it could be a forge feature. If you want to put a “vehicle skin” on a vehicle on map you can.

They kind of had this earlier with the Mongeese I noticed. You can change the color on the sides to Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. There may have been more colors I don’t remember.

But they should step it up so you can have like a Wooden Warthog or Pink Camo Tank ( maybe not XD ) something funny or cool like that.

One idea could be to have a pattern option and a color option. The pattern will be like camouflage, wood, etc. And color will let you well… change the color of the texture.

I wouldn’t see a problem with both Banshees returning, as long as they’re only skins. I’m actually not opposed to that. It would be cool to have the choice to cycle between the different designs of weapons and vehicles. Similarly, imagine if you could choose between a Brute or regular Plasma rifle?

If vehicles are going to have their own unique skins just like weapons, then I would actually like to see this.

It would just be better if they added a new air vehicle than, we don’t want halo to be cluttered. (You know what happened to 4)

I would like to see a ‘bomber’ variant of the Banshee. It would be the same colour as the Revenant and it would have dual concussion cannons that would be capable of devastating ground forces. It would also have more armour than the standard Banshee but be less maneuverable, this would make it strong against ground forces but easily countered by anti-air weapons and other air vehicles.

Yeah I think that would be cool
