banshee super nerfed

What the heck did they do to it?!

Rolling is near useless as it takes forever to engage once the button is pressed. the backflip results in no altitude gain, the banshee actually dives down before going back up?!?

If they were gonna turn it into a flying paper box they should at least make it agile. add in everyone spawning with plasma pistols and the over abundance of power weapons resulting from drops and you have a damn near useless vehicle. the ghost is harder to destroy then the banshee.

and if I take it and my teammate doesn’t like it… he instantly stickies the wing. There’s no point of flying it then… wish it was still there for CTF and they got rid of the mantis.

right. i wouldn’t mind it being so fragile if it was quick and agile. but the thing is like flying a bathtub with boosters. on ragnorak it’s useless. dart in for one quick kill and by the time you retreat to the back of your base your damn near dead.

Why limit the uselessness to Ragnarok? I’m beginning to wonder where the reputed “vehicles are more like Halo 3 than Reach” thing came from, because I’m not seeing it at all.

I think they are very weak but at the same time before they were just way to OP.
If they can balance em and just make em a little stronger somehow then maybe it would be worth getting into but whenever I get into any vehicle (Besides the gauss) I know I am going to get just a few kills and die

what they should’ve done with the vehicles was make them, oh i don’t know, power weapons. Have them be damn tough and deadly but incorporate weak spots into them for skilled individuals to aim for. Ala the old banshee being able to take a beating but if you shoot the pods off either side it explodes. the gas tank on the ghost, gas tank on the warthog, breaking the treads on the scorpion, etc.

Yeah, people were begging 343 not to use Reach’s banshee. I heard many specific pleas to make the flips slower. But yes I do agree the dip down is stupid, I hurt myself almost every time forgetting it does that.

those kids must not have unlocked the plasma pistol yet. kinda hard to be over powered when there are green bolts disabling you every second and a sniper rifle can blow you up with a single clip

It’s balanced, now. I remember I still got a lot of points when I used it on Ragnarok. It’s no longer rains down OP bombs of death every few seconds and you can’t ever hope to avoid it. It no longer flips every fricking second so using rockets on it was completely worthless.

I’m glad the Banshee got the nerf it deserved from Reach. It’s balanced, now.

But I do agree that the Sniper needs to do less damage to vehicles. That has been a complaints since Reach. We have enough anti-vehicle weapons to deal with, we don’;t need the sniper, too.

Its balanced now.

In Halo Reach, the Banshee was extremely OP. I cannot count the amount of matches where I just got spawned killed every 5 seconds by it. It’s flip speed combined with its Banshee Bomb made it the most overpowered vehicle in Reach. I had a game once where someone got around 45+ kills in the Banshee and all he did was spawn kill with it.

Don’t blame 343 for nerfing it, blame the community. If people didn’t abuse things to play like little -Yoinks!-, it wouldn’t have been changed.

And I thought vehicles were fragile in Reach. They REALLY should have done the Halo 3 style vehicle health. I’m about to make an enormous thread on vehicle functionality/ balance.

i would be perfectly ok if they removed the bomb and increased it’s flip speed back to useful. or increased the flip speed but added a cooldown timer for it. either way right now it is not balanced. there are far too many counters to it to call it balanced.
