Those with the highest K/D often have the banshee as a top weapon, and it’s easy to see why. Banshees shoot friggin wraith bullets.

And the tricks and flips are so much faster than in halo 3. All people do is spam tricks while they wait for banshee bomb to reload.
It really shouldn’t have a lock on ability, and the warthog shouldnt be left empty after one banshee bomb.

And I really can’t see the logic behind a rocket, plasma charge, or plasma launchette temporarily losing its lock on a banshee when it flips and barrel rolls.

I can Banshee fine, I just don’t find it very gratifying.
I’m not saying remove the banshee, but slow down the tricks, keeps rockets locked on, remove banshee bomb vehicle lock on, and nerf banshee bomb blast radius to that of a plasma grenade, instead of its current plasma mortar status.
I agree that the banshee is overpoweed in the hands of an expert, but any ordinary person is usually instantly shot down by dmr’s and sniper rounds, in fact its rediculous that a few sniper rounds can destroy the banshee, or all vehicles for that matter. I agree that the banshee roll speed should be slowed down and the banshee bombs nerfed, but at the same time beef up the armour on it or something so its not totaled in seconds by a sniper clip.

The first Title Update took 343 Industries many months to put out. I would have to say the chances for a second one are very slim.
The banshee isn’t that powerful if you unite as a team and spam it down, true it has an extremely powerful banshee bomb but it lack any real endurance, and shouldn’t be able to stay up for over a couple minutes.
Once you realize there is a banshee, grab armor lock upon next respawn
Team shoot at banshee with DMR, if it bombs you drop into armor lock
If you have a sniper, have them shoot the banshee (From the side if possible), during the split second of vulnerability which comes after each backflip
What ever you do, do NOT simply run away from it. Banshee’s only get to sit there and crush your team if you LET it do so by running away instead of fighting back.
Once the banshee is dead, take note of what time it is destroyed, then make sure your team is there to get the next one instead of letting them constantly get it.
If your “Team” isn’t intelligent enough to team shot the banshee and kill it within seconds, then your team was probably going to lose anyway. Being able to team shot vehicles with DMRs is a vital necessity in the BTB playlist, I’ll never understand why people refuse to do so.
Oh sorry one more thing, the Sniper in this game is based off of the Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle, which was in fact designed to be able to destroy tanks. There is NOTHING illogical about the sniper being able to take down vehicles like the Banshee, Tank, Wraith.
Nothing illogical about sniper bullets tearing the treads of the tanks and setting it on fire?
I could understand if the bullets peirced through the cockpit and killed the driver.
But as is it takes zero skill and makes no sense.
It’s a sniper, not a rail gun.
There’s a banshee on every Invasion map.
The less sporting spartan team often steals the banshee, and when that happens its game over. No DMR team fire from the elites.
If you try to defend the banshee spawn from Spartan invaders than you’re essentially leaving your team the job of core retrieval. Not easy when over half the team is running armor lock/shotgun +power weapons.
BTB the banshee isn’t such an issue.
Even when the elites get the banshee, not every Spartan starts with the DMR, and any average pilot can hold off your whole team until the tank comes up, but the tank seems to attract many noobs who seem to think the tank is their only ticket to a positive k/d.
The banshee has little trouble dealing with these.
And the sniper?
As soon as you hit it with one shot, it’ll go flipping an turboing out of control in your direction until it gets off a good banshee bomb and then no more snipes for you.
Even if they just keep rockets/plasma shots locked on it’d be fine.
Or even simply moving the banshee spawns to a spot unreachable by Spartans.
But right now the Elites have no way of fighting back against the banshee whores in a timely manner.
BTB vehicles are broken, as everyone gets the snipers little cousin, the DMR. But that’s old news.
I also agree sniper shouldn’t be able to counter everything. Sure it’s not OP in CQB but with everyone having DMRs in BTB, you’ll rarely find yourself within punching distance. Especially of you have the sniper.
I also agree a nerf to the banshee is needed, but it isn’t going to happen as 343i absolutely will not put out another TU. But what they can do, and I would support this, is remove it from MM entirely. The banshee sucks the fun out of a lot of BTB games as even a crappy player can go on ridiculous sprees because its soooooo powerful.
