Lately I’ve been flying the Banshee. I’m using the wireless 360 controller that came with my XBox. Sometimes, when in the Banshee, it won’t fire. Not the guns, or the cannon. At first I thought it was maybe my controller, but I’ve never had a firing problem when on foot and not in a vehicle, so I don’t know. I’m not speed boosting at the same time either. I let off of that and then try to fire, but sometimes it just won’t fire. I’ve had this happen a couple of times in a Ghost too, but I don’t know why.
Anyone else ever experienced this? Any suggestions? I don’t have another controller. that was my first thing to try. (I guess I’ll have to buy one, preferably wired to eliminate the wireless factor, if necessary.)
Are you using the secondary thrusters? Because the weapon systems and boosters are linked through the same plasma feeds and can’t operate at the same time, or else they’d overheat.
Hi. You’re talking about the left trigger on the controller, the speed thruster, right? No. I make sure to let go of that before I pull the right trigger to fire the weapon. Does the speed thruster meter have to be back up at 100% before I can fire? I hadn’t payed really close attention to that (I’ll have to test), but when the guns are working “normally”, I feel like I can let go of the speed boost (thrusters) and then fire right away.
Okay. I tested it out and paid closer attention. What’s happening is that the speed boost is getting stuck for some reason. When I let off, the boost meter doesn’t start going back up, but instead, it stays at what percentage it was when I let go of the left trigger. So because it does that, it won’t let me fire the gun. I don’t feel like my left trigger is sticky, or anything. Anyone experience this when driving a ghost, or banshee?
I tested this out further in a custom game by myself and it didn’t happen at all. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s an internet connection related thing. My theory is that tor some reason, during match making games, when there’s a lot of action going on and data being transferred, sometimes the thrusters are getting stuck. It’s like the game isn’t registering that I’ve let go of the left trigger and it continues to boost. Probably due to some sort of lag effect. So hopefully if someone else experiences this in the future, they’ll know why it happens to them. Hopefully 343 might experience this and fix this in a patch some time. Thanks.
