How the heck do you do Banshee maneuvers in Halo 4? I use Bumper Jumper, but if you can just tell me how to do it with the default layout I’ll be good.
Left bumper + hold direction you want to flip/turn. The tricks are way slower than in Halo reach though, so they are almost completely useless.
Sadly.
Ya the Banshee evades usually make me smash into things because they take so long to do.
Banshees were incredibly difficult to kill in Reach, due to how quickly they could evade.
I don’t mind the evade but I hate how the Banshee automatically turns if you move the left stick during the evade.
However, I cannot deny that the Banshee is practically worthless in Campaign without some form of hover.
It lacks a means to control it’s speed, which is why so many AI Banshees end up stuck against the wall.
Halo 2 let you slow down your Banshee if you were leaning left or right.
Halo 3 let you descend your Banshee by holding down the A button (but it didn’t mean much. Operating the Banshee in Halo 3 Campaign, if you ever managed to, was extremely disappointing).
And when you were exiting the Banshee in the trilogy, you could get right back in if you were quick.
But in Reach, the only way to control it was to back flip (which has been neutralized) and if you got out, the Banshee landed some distance away from you. This is an absolutely terrible base to build a Banshee on. It was worth using compared to the Halo 3 Banshee but at the same time, combat options were limited (especially by the switching guns feature).
I can understand the developer preferring it’s aesthetic design but that doesn’t mean they should build on it. It was not received well in Reach after all.
Revert to either the Halo 2 or ODST Banshee, that’s the way I see it. Or base the Banshee on the Broadsword, which lacks a flip but is very versatile and controllable.

But the Reach Banshee was the best version. The only complaints about the Reach Banshee was about it being over-powered.

CE and ODST would like to have a word with you.

Or your sprint button, to be exact.

Truth. I really think they got it wrong with the vehicles in H4. The evade is pretty much aesthetic only now. To address the problem from Reach they should have just lowered the damage threshold but kept the evade. IMHO.

The CE Banshee had weak armor and no evade or boost ability. ODST was just like the weak H3 Banshee, but it could hover.

And the Reach Banshee didn’t have low health? CE Banshee didn’t need those abilities, it was plenty fast enough. I’m assuming you got shot down quite frequently by rocket launcher Flood? Anyways, it’s pretty pointless debating CE vs. Reach Banshee since Reach Banshee was made in the style of CE. Let’s just get back to the op.
I agree about ODST though.

The Reach Banshee didn’t have the strongest armor, but it was better than the CE Banshee.
