Banshee evade a lot slower than Reach

When viewing the HORSE challenge when Geoff went into the Banshee and was testing out the Evade maneuver, I noticed that the evade was a lot slower than it was in Reach. I find this to be really awesome. I love that 343i looked at the problems from the Reach Banshee and made it better in Halo 4. No more spamming the evade maneuver now!!! Hooraayyy!

What do you all think of this change?

I’m very happy. The design also looks… better than Reach. I wish the wingspan were larger, but it looks much better. It also looks like it flies better too.

I think it’s a tiny, tiny bit too slow.

tomo im sure itll be tweaked but its much better slower

It’s slower, but you can chain evades together and combine them with the other maneuvers easier and more smoothly.

I actually think the evade is on par with how it was in Halo 3 which I thought was perfect.

I don’t really like it. Before Reach the evade function of the Banshee was completely useless. You didn’t move fast enough to actually evade anything. In Reach it allowed you to actually dodge.

But I am the first person to complain about the Banshee in Reach. The problem is that evading didn’t drain the boost meter, which it should so you would need to think about when the right moment is to evade.

Finally. Now all banshee scrubs will be like “meeeeeeeeh it sucks, make it like Halo Reeeeeach”.

Go and farm your kills somewhere else. Be a man and use skill, not broken stuff like the Banshee :slight_smile:

I think that’s a good move, but I hope that also means it got a little bit of a health boost. Since the Sniper is confirmed to be “anti-materiel” which means it’ll be extremely effective in the destruction of vehicles, the Banshee will need to be balanced with it so that it cannot be destroyed as easily as in Reach. With well placed shots, you can destroy the Banshee (or snipe the pilot) in 3 or 4 sniper shots. Since a slower and less powerful evade will be implemented, it will be underpowered if its health hasn’t been increased a bit.

However, I’d like to see more of a Halo 3 vehicle health system implemented. I’m sick of 1 plasma grenade killing everybody in a vehicle when stuck, no matter which part it’s stuck to. It makes absolutely no sense, especially if the vehicle can survive a rocket impact.

Shooting a flipping Banshee in Reach wasn’t even difficult. But, lol useless evade, just like Halo 3’s.

Banshee looked great, mechanics looked very improved.

as long as someone cant get 30+ kills in a banshee every time they use it then im good. i have had plenty of unfrigs in a banshee and its way over powered. but now it looks fixed. But i hope there isnt vehicle health now. I hope its linked the the persons health so a sniper doesnt 4 shot a banshee if its nerfed that much.

Hopefully we have Halo 3 “vehicle health” back.

I like it. I think and certainly hope 343i has balanced the Banshee’s evade as to not be as overpowered as in Reach, but maybe slightly more useful than Halo 3’s evade. I look forward to testing that out.

It reminds me of the Halo 2 banshee “feel wise” not looks. It def looks better than the reach banshee and im loving the way it operates so far. Also that challenge was really cool and gave me a few forge ideas already :stuck_out_tongue:
