Anyone remember playing Halo CE and having epic Banshee fights? I always thought that was fun on maps like Death Island on the PC. Maybe H4 should have Banshees that work in a similar way, with less interruption from people on the ground. Maybe depending on how high up in the air they are.
I don’t want the Banshee to be too overpowered like it was in CE, though.

It would be better if they gave me the option to do barrel-rolls, fly upside down and generally fly similar to actual aircraft. And no, those Banshee tricks in the latter Halo’s don’t count.

Why do they not count? They’re exactly what you’re asking for.

Because I like my air battles to take place in 3 dimensions, in whatever orientation to the aircraft I see fit. If I want to do a loop or half-loop, I should be able to control how wide/long I loop for, and only giving me 3 gimmicky maneuvers is just not enough and lowers the skill ceiling for air vehicles.
I don’t know about Halo dogfights turning into something like that. Honestly the current one is fine I reckon. I haven’t played Battlefield before, but I feel it might be a bit too realistic.

I think he is referring to the ones where you charged at your opponent firing your plasma guns, then when you got closer you would take a shot with the banshee bomb before both of you broke off and looped back around to begin the process again.
I wouldn’t mind those but I would prefer if aircraft vehicles were balanced a lot better in Halo 4 than they were in Halo Reach.
I’m just thinking maybe there should be some additions/changes to the air battles in Halo. In the Halo universe, sky battles aren’t really uncommon, so why not make them a bigger part of the game? Maybe even some new air vehicles. I think it would be awesome in BTB games.
Banshee should be similar to Halo Reach’s except damage/health wise should be like Halo 3’s:
-Less powerful fuel rod cannon than in Reach.
-More health compared to Reach, similar to how it was in Halo 3.
-Change Aerial flip/rolls to use up the Banshee’s boost (unlike in Halo reach where the boost wasn’t consumed)
Doing all this should prevent the Banshee from totally dominating BTB like it did in Reach, yet will still have considerable damage output.
