Banshee a little too over power?

I know for sure that banshee from Halo 3 was not over powering. I just hope that 343i don’t take the banshee from Halo Reach because it was way to powerful and over used. If they are going to keep it that way. They better make all of the other vehicles more stronger so they accually have a chance against it. What do you guys think?

i hope we have new everything. New weapons, new aliens, and new vehicles.

I agree with new everything but if they do happen to bring it back they better make it weaker or something.

Yeah Reach’s was a little overpowered for those who knew how to fly it. So if there is a banshee is Halo 4, then agreed hopefully it’s not as overpowered as Reach’s. But hopefully a little better then Halo 3’s

Definitely…Reach’s banshee was overpowered. The banshee in Halo 3 was about right IMO.

This!

I think if Halo 3 had Reach’s banshee it wouldn’t have been a huge problem. Every map that had a banshee had lasers, missile pods and half of them had tanks, so the banshee was very difficult to stay in for a decent period of time. If your team had possession of all the weapons in H3 then the banshee tore people up, too. I think the problem in Reach was Bungie not even considering how people were going to take it down. They overestimated the availability of sniper rifles, and people’s willingness to waste 4 kills worth of bullets to take down one enemy.

The Halo 3 Banshee, in the hands of a good player, was far more overpowered than the Reach Banshee because of one thing: light-weapon damage. No matter how good the pilot is, the other team can always use their DMRs and eventually stack up enough damage to bring it down. Whereas in Halo 3, a good pilot on Valhalla was untouchable. The Missile Pod was easily dodged, the Splaser unreachable. The only chance you had to bring it down was with the Warthog turret, but even there a single Banshee Bomb would wreck you.

Team shoot Banshee = Win

I don’t want to be a -YOINK!- but I can’t stand grammar mistakes. In the title of the topic you misused “to”. It should have been “too”. Again, I don’t mean to be rude, or to troll, or whatever heat I might get for this.

To OP: I do believe that if there is a new type of Banshee on Halo 4 I think it should be scaled down to be evenly matched with another vehicle, not stronger than a Wraith or tank.

Hey thanks for the miss spelling grammer.Yeah the new type of banshee should be scaled down so any vehicle have a chance against it.

The banshee in halo 3 was a very easy kill. You just don’t know how to kill it.

To take it down you had a big variety of weapons:

  • Laser
  • Rocket
  • Missile Pod
  • Grenades
  • Power drain
  • High jack
  • Turret
  • Warthog Turret

Laser.

To kill someone with a laser is easy. Keep charging it up all the time until you have the enemy in your scope and fire.
And if you don’t have the laser the best way to gain it on valhalla, is to push by cave, get regenerator and then go top mid. Use the regenerator there and keep circling around the stones to prevent the banshee from killing you, then pick up the laser when it is available.

Missile Pod.

Shoot a few missiles, and wait for the banshee to maneuver. When it is you fire the rest of the missiles and i garauntee that the banshee will get killed.
If you are going to kill a warthog with a Missile Pod, never shoot from behind, but sacrifice your life and get right infront of it and shoot. It is possible that both will die, but you did your intention.

Power drain.

Again, sacrifice your life and stand right infront of the banshee and throw the power drain. The banshee will fall to the ground and you can high jack it.

  • Greetings experienced halo player

I would definetly like to have a better balancing for the banshee like halo 3

I thought that getting into a banshee in halo 3 was like giving the player a killing frenzy. Reach’s banshee was weaker and more uncontrollable than halo 3s. you had to press y to get out the fuel rod while in halo 3 it was just a matter of button mashing and spamming.

The Halo 3 Banshee was perfect IMO, it looked awesome and you had to have a good amount skill to keep it alive throughout the match.

The Reach Banshee is a wierd mixture of overpowered and underpowered. The Fuel Rod is way too strong and it recharges too fast but the Banshee’s armour is way too weak.

Plus it looks like poop.

If there’s a Banshee in Halo 4 they should base it off of the Halo 3 one.

Obviously you don’t have enough experience in halo 3 to be able to kill a banshee, but when you do get enough, you will find out quickly that it is indeed quite weak. Actually every vehicle in halo 3 is weak and can be destroyed by a single spartan. Please don’t missunderstand when i say that it is weak and think that i would like it more powerful, because i don’t, i think it is just perfect the way it is.

I can PM you my gamertag to show you different ways to kill a banshee if you want to.

After playing Halo Reach, I now hate all other banshees. Reaches is so much more manoeuvrable and fast. Others just feel awkward.
