Can anyone officially state whether or not i will get banned for playing my legit copy today?
A lot of threads popped up today with this, some say it’s fine to play and some say to play it safely, I would go for play it safely personally but I would see what the other forum members have to say
Oh and welcome to the forums!
"For those that have purchased a legitimate copy of Halo 4 and have a receipt, you should have no concerns of being banned when playing on Xbox LIVE. That is all. " From Frank O’Connor himself
You won’t be banned.
Stinkles = Frank O’ Connor
Im telling myself that its not against ToS and that its technically the distributers fault but i cant shake the dread of being banned. Is the a proper Mod/Official who can confirm or deny this?
I know several people were wrongfully banned for playing a legit copy. They were unbanned later though. But it happened several days ago. So idk.
Thanks fellas, love you.

doesn’t mean you wont get banned and have to go through the unbanning process…
So if you get it earlier and then play it. you won’t get banned right? And if you do? How do you unban?

Seems nobody really knows for sure.

Playing offline on a different account.
I took what I hope is a safe route. I called Microsoft Support and gave them my GT and informed them that I received my copy of Halo 4 in the mail today. Told them where I got it and that I had played it already. They took my info and put notes in there system and gave me a ticket number for if any problems do arise. I was told I wouldn’t be banned and if something did happen to call them with my ticket number
it depends entirely on how early you start playing the game itself, with it being closer to the release date each day, it would become more and more unlikely that you would get banned anyway, like last year, i got HALO CEA the day before it came out (November 14th) and i did not get banned, but some got it weeks before legitly and still did not get banned (dont know how that makes any sense neither), but overal, not the consumer’s fault, but it is the retailer’s fault
is it safe yet?
xD
Yes it’s safe!
Im just going to try it
My Ltd Edition arrived this morning from Tesco Entertainment.
I’m a little worried to start playing it because of all the bannings, but I have my Tesco order number and invoice at hand. Should I phone Microsoft support to check or should I just risk it and head online?
The way I see it, if you have Halo 4 already before the official release Don’t be a -Yoink- and play it online or spoil it for everyone else. It isn’t awfully fair for the gamers that are waiting for the launch and are patiently waiting to play it. Just play it offline, lay low and be silent till release.
Shame on the retailers that sell copies of the game before official release.
