BANNING?!

My son is 10, high-functioning -Yoink!- and loves to play Halo and Minecraft. We just had yet another meltdown because he was crying that I made him get off the gaming system to eat lunch. He gets banned for leaving the game early. I PAY FOR HIM TO PLAY THESE LIVE GAMES. Last week he had to leave because our WiFi was malfunctioning and I told him I would have to reset it to stop his game from glitching. This little boy should not have to live in fear of a -Yoink!- video game. He should have an option to leave the game when he chooses. For whatever reason he chooses. He should not feel PINNED DOWN to a game that won’t let him stop playing without some sort of BAN! Ridiculous. You need to fix this. Maybe make them select a reason they are leaving. Such as “MY MOM TOLD ME TO GET OFF THE GAME.” As an -Yoink!- educator, I know to give him countdowns… 10 minutes, 5 minutes. 3 minutes. 1 minute. But it doesn’t work that great when he doesn’t know when the game will end at times. You should encourage gaming that allows for a responsible parent to set time limits on their child and for child to be able to leave WITH NO PROBLEMS whenever they need. Not many games work for my son. I don’t allow him to play games that cause -Yoink!- meltdowns… but the only meltdown with Halo is centered around this unfair banning system.

He is Aspergers on the spectrum and super smart. He has developed games writing code on his Raspberry Pi and hopes to work for a game corporation someday as a software engineer. Maybe he could write your code to fix this. Haha. Before he hacks his game himself.

Good luck with that.

Everyone hates quitters, but this ban system is a perfect example of causing more problems then fixing them.

At first I was all for the ban system. But then I get called to dinner, I get kicked out in the time it takes to go take a quick piss, disconnections (worse for other people). Its pretty bad.

That sucks, there really is an issue with the ban hammer in Halo 5. I can’t leave to get a glass of water without getting banned. Apparently you can get banned for committing suicide one to many times too. I mean wtf 343? This this the 3rd article (4 if you count the one I made) I’ve seen today, they gotta get on this stuff asap.

This ban Hammer is in the game because some ppl like Ruining others games like idling and killing teamates etc… but its hard to make good system for game so if you have To go to wc and you get banned for idling deal whit it

I’m sorry about the problems you’re having, but if they didn’t give penalties for leaving games then that would create many more problems than it would solve. Even with your idea of choosing why you have to leave, any person could just lie about why they are leaving by picking a different reason than why they were actually quitting. I hope you can get this problem solved somehow though.

worst game i hate the banning system on is halo reach honestly -,- for some unknown reason many times i can finish a match and still get banned saying i left, when in fact nobody left (matchmaking firefight) when there is too much lag both players disconnect from each other but still remain in the game and are able to finish so it splits the match in 2 basically yet it counts that as “leaving” a match and you can get the 10+min ban from online AND you miss out on those jackpots at the end of matches, it will never get high since game registered you as leaving. i wish theyd fix this banning system

I’m sorry to hear, I had a buddy I served with his son had same issues he attempted to talk to 343 but it’s been 6 months think they aren’t going to reply lol. But he went to Doom and loves it more with no banning might want to check it out because 343 or the game won’t help anyone, it’s the way the game was built its not fun for people on your position , heck his son was banned on waypoint for a week because the type program he used by accident caped locked a few words just randomly and they banned him for week here and in game he got up to a pretty high ban due to his disabilities and they asked for help last year and they got nothing. I would call Xbox I know they hooked him up and refunded it all since 343 wouldn’t . Again, sorry you have to go through this it’s not fun when you pay for a game and there’s no support only banning.
