Banning issues

I find that I am getting banned from multiplayer games way to frequently even though I only leave approximately one game a week (Usually when most people on my team have left the game and it is no longer fun.) Please give suggestions on what is going on and how long the leave game counter resets.

What’s going on is that you’ve been quitting too often. It does not reset, but you can make it less frequent by quitting less and completing more games.

There is a ban thread at the top of the section. You may be better off posting there.

i got banned after quitting one game today. just one. i am just going to live with the bans. honestly if i am on a team that is getting steamrolled i would rather leave early and hop into warzone rather than suffer through an entire game where i know we will lose in the end.

As stated by comedyshermit, there is a ban thread stickied at the top of the forums. Not sure what good posting there will do as it appears none of the posts get “resolved”.

There are people that have gotten banned from leaving forge, custom games, campaign, banned after an accidental suicide on their very first arena game ever etc… I’ve personally had 1 disconnect last year, and I left 1 social ctf a few weeks ago and have gotten banned. My friend who has left 5 games hasn’t gotten banned once (taking into account all the other actions that result in a penalty). System is messed up from what everyone’s seeing/reporting.

Currently the issues people are having with the ban system are:
No reset on the ban length (no matter how many games between they are),
Apparently the system accounts for disconnects/network dnfs, but that hasn’t been the case for many people (some disconnected twice due to 343 servers and have gotten banned, no priors)
Apparently the system takes into account accidents like boosting off the map to dodge, teammates walking in front of you/your shots/grenades, etc…, but these “accidents” don’t appear to reset and therefore add to the invisible tallies to a players next ban. (343 says the system looks for patterns, but there are odd cases all over the forums)
Grif ball team kill bans (this ones suppose to be fixed)
Bans from leaving campaign, forge (cant end game, have to leave if you’re by yourself), custom games (this one is suppose to be a bug, not sure if anyone’s ban lengths have been reversed or not)
Overall inconsistency.
(All taken from personal experiences with friends, posts on websites like reddit, and the waypoint forums. Some posts have been “lies” about the amount of dnfs, but there were many that actually didn’t make sense according to the match history)

For your situation, it looks like from your match history you have a dnf on 3-5-16, 2-28-16, 2-10-16, 2-6-16, 1-28-16, 2-6-16 etc… Since dnf penalties don’t reset, your past unfinished/left games is the reason why you got a ban for quitting that one game.

Hope this was helpful.
