Banned

Tonight I was playing HALO 5 as I do every night and accidentally I quit a game. Now I am getting a message saying I have been banned, it doesn’t give me a time limit and it has been 3 hours so far. I tried to do some research on why, and I was directed to enforcement.xbox.com to see if there are any enforcements against my account. I did this and after signing in it shows that I have a perfect record. WHAT IS GOING ON? I can’t contact 343 industries, I called XBOX and they can’t help, has anyone else had this issue and if you have what did you do to resolve it? Please don’t reply telling me some crazy story or to tell me I’m an idiot. I am looking for some help. I want to play!

I am in the same boat man, I got a ban for 23 hours, simply because I kept losing connection.

You have over 30 DNF matches in your service record over the last 7 days so that’s why you will have been banned, the last quit will have triggered it. Bans will tell in your Minutes:Seconds on the ban screen just how long the ban is in force for

But it doesn’t tell me how long my ban is for. All is says is "At least one player in your fire team is banned from playing halo 5 Guardians."

Also, where did you see that I quit that many times?

Shows in your Service Record. Generally when you get banned there is a screen that will pop up and tell you the ban hammer has swung. The time displayed on that screen is in minutes and seconds

But where can we find out how long bans are for? Mine said 8 hours last night. I log back on this morning thinking I could play again, and yet it still said 8 hours as soon as I logged in. Now, I can’t even see how much time is left. Do I essentially have to leave Halo on for 8 hours and wait before I can play again?

That i’m not sure sorry, I don’t think there is a place to see. Would be useful though, probably something we can request 343 to add in a future update

I called XBOX and they were able to help me reset my console. Now when the game first loads I now get the ban hammer message. Mine said 4:10:22, is that 4 days or 4 hours?

Do you know ho to get in touch with 343 Industries?

Okay, thanks so much for your help. Truthfully I still can’t see where in my service record it shows I quit those games.

It’s the matches that show up as DNF. Granted not all of them might be matches you have quit, some might be where you’ve disconnected, but for the majority that’s what people look for.

When one is banned, do you have to be on or playing Halo for that amount of time before the ban is lifted? Or can one step away and log off their Xbox, come back in the allotted amount of time and play again?

I’ve never (legit haha) been banned from Halo before, but I imagine you should be able to log off, do something else and come back. It should be logged on the server I think, so once that timer lifts you’ll be free to hop back on

Well, I logged off last night from an eight-hour ban. I logged back on just about an hour ago, well past the eight-hours to play to find the timer hadn’t moved at all. Is there anyway to resolve this or am I just SOL?

I was just banned from playing grifball, you know that game where everyone has a hammer and accidental team kills ALWAYS HAPPEN. Well I guess when 3 of my 54 kills are team kills I’m really trying to just about my team and should be banned for the rest of the night! I am so pissed at this. It’s part of the game you added!!! Hammers are not head shot weapons. Already saddened by the slow death of Halo in 343’s arms but this and reading about how it happens all the time is too far. Look at my last game, I never target a teammate! But when you respond next to you own goal and their age enemies who are spawn killing you I guess you’re right I should wait, let them kill me and score because I might hit a teammate as 8 other people attempt to kill each other. So so so pissed.

Please see the ban thread at the top of this forum for further help with bans, please don’t don’t revive very old posts thanks
