I’m not sure how long it takes to get un-banned, but stop cheating. You knew what you were doing even though you claim otherwise.
343i has made it VERY easy not to cheat. In order to get banned, you have to be TRYING to do something you know isn’t within the realm of normal, fair play.
It was a bad challenge but doing that is boosting
re-read. i did a match, because the challenge was glitched. found out it wasnt glitched, got off. got on today and was banned. i have earned my 42 because i love to play Spartan Ops. i like the MP, but im not a huge fan of it atm. i dont care if someone wants to boost thats on them, but i did it that one time to see if the challenge was glitched or im some how someone at 343 had given us an impossible challenge. there is a difference
is there a good way to check from work if you’ve been banned? A group of friends and I were trying this last night, omg boosting!!! - yeah -Yoink- you 343 you made an impossible challenge and we were just trying to beat it, we’re not the type to game challenges but when you shove it someone’s face it encourages this behavior.
anyhow, I didn’t read about how “serious” this offense is before we did it or we would have let it go, honestly the thought process was very simple and not a maniacal evil hacker-booster that I’m sure everyone thinks I am.

it’s actually not boosting, boosting implies actually cheating to get ranks, going into a 1 game to earn credits that I could have earned in 3 games or less. Yeah, that’s boosting, boosting REALLY REALLY BADLY.

Is it really worth it to boost for a challenge? It’s not even worth that much xp…
Looking at your matches, it looks like the system picked up on the fact that you had 8 regicide matches full of guests in a party.
The banhammer is pretty much automated, so it picks up on even a small number of boosting attempts and will ban based on that.
Should be pretty short-term though, since it was a minor violation. Also, ban thread.

The Regicide (18 Regicides in a Single Match, is the one I’m guessing your on about) is possible but just barely… like you have to have the most perfect game with Kingship swapping before anyone gets a kill.
Even then it is iffy… this said those “in a single match” challenge are bugged.
So far I’ve got all of them, but never actually achieved any of them. It seems to randomly add to them as it pleases and counts across several games depending on how many times you back-out and wait for Waypoint to update.
Not sure exactly why you got “banned” though, I mean what has been confusing me is my friend was -Yoinking!- the other day about reaching an experience limit.
Didn’t fully believe him it was in the game until it just happened to me.
The strange thing is yesterday I was able to go up 4 Ranks, completing a good number of the challenges (focused on daily) … got on today, completed the two daily and the Regicide weekly one (that I’m sure I completed yesterday but claimed was 1 off today) and instantly I’ve hit my Online Experience Limit, whatever the heck that means.
Still it doesn’t make sense how yesterday I could happily earn about 120,000 XP; yet today I only earnt 15,000 XP and suddently I’ve hit my limit, which the game didn’t specify if it was daily, weekly or just well some weird cap like what Reach had.
What I fail to understand is why can’t we have Experience for playing through the Campaign? Why have Spartan Ops provide so much more Experience available to earn than War Games? Why allow custom matches to provide experience BUT not count towards the Challenges?
If you don’t want people Boosting Experience then DON’T provide them with the means to do so … banning people for simply playing trying to figure out if some of these -Yoink- Challenges are possible, when they’re being completed because the Challenge system is buggy as hell not because we’re all amazing Halo Gods - is just stupid.
What pisses me off about this is they put in systems that are buggy to begin with concerning experience and challenges, then they add in numerous ways to easily farm Experience (Hell you get it just for messing about in Forge for -Yoinks!- sake!) the have systems that stop us from either playing or wanting to bother keep playing because we’ve hit some imaginary limit naturally let alone through what they consider farming.
If someone wants to be sad and farm their way to maximum experience / rank why should it matter? The majority of us will just think their no-lifer who are pathetic for doing that rather than “OMG He’s so amazing he reached Specialisation Level [add max arbitrary number here]”
Maybe if they’d focused less on worrying about farming experience, which c’mon isn’t exactly bloody rocket science to figure out; and a little more time on the Network Code and Anti-Cheating stuff (:cough:Modded Controller BR Players:cough:) then perhaps we might have some smoother games with Killcams not showing players getting headshots while looking at a wall or trailing instead of leading their shots.
Experience and Leveling is a damn novelty, Gameplay SHOULD be the primary and only REAL focus… because at the end of the day while we might rank because we want to unlock some vanity aspects, honestly it is the GAMEPLAY that should keep us wanting to come back and play.
