Banned from Halo 4 voice for one week

Hello,
Two weeks or so ago i was banned from using voice in Halo 4 matchmaking.
I found this odd because my microphone was off and was not plugged in.
I really didn’t make a big deal out of a week, because I could just use party chat.
Well as of today it has been several weeks and as of today when i boot up halo 4 i’m greeted to a message stating the following “This account has been banned from using voice online for one week. http://www.halo4.com/bann
I would most appreciate any help that could be given. I would like to get this issue resolved if possible. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Rogers

I can just see all the no-life trolls on this forum coming in to tell you why you deserved the ban.

This forum’s logic: Suspects are guilty, period. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be suspects, would they?

I would just not use Halo 4 voice chat, you’re not missing out on much anyways, just a bunch of redneck families with annoying babies/children/yokels yelling in the background.

> I found this odd because my microphone was off and was not plugged in.

Do you have a Kinect and is it set to be used as a microphone?

Yeah, I just got that too coming back from a nice turkey dinner. Not quite sure why I received it since I don’t trash talk, scream, or play music in the background. Hell, I don’t talk much at all for the most part. Well, at least it is good to know that I can complain and ban others from voice without cause as well.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was playing but in party chat not game chat and it popped up banned from using voice online for a week. I think it’s a glitch cause I never talk in game chat period so the guy saying your guilty if your on this forum is wrong. It doesn’t effect me at all cause I never use it anyway but the principle remains. I don’t like being banned because I beat the crap out of someone’s team and they file a complaint from a random reason. They should just avoid instead of lying.

I sometimes submit player reviews to badteammates and randomly choose the reason,I heard people getting muted is the most frequently punished so I tend to choose that more often.

IDC flame away

So, because I mute other players so I do not have to hear them whine when they suck, I am automatically suspect? That seems odd. I usually have my mic on so I can strategize with my teammates on how best to deal with our enemies, not so I can be other people’s audience to whatever ails them.

Case in point, a few nights ago I decided not to mute a pair of players who were being obnoxiously loud in-game. Much to my chagrin, we had to listen to Mr. A complain about how his face hurts from his out-of-control acne problem that no one understands. His friend Ms. B constantly complained about being grounded for whatever reason and for not being able to grab a ghost or warthog before anyone else.

I am truly sorry about other people’s problems, but your fellow gamers have nothing to do with that, so please keep the whining down.

I play for fun and to blow off steam from a hard day of work and the worries that bills and debt collectors and bad decisions throw at me, please refrain from ruining it with your childish issues.

Hmmm, after this rant of mine, I guess I am a suspect, but I have a valid reason which I know other gamers (not just my friends) share on a regular basis.

Thanks for allowing me to vent. Have fun Halo-ing everyone!

The fact that they enforce these easily abused policies is ridiculous.

Why are there mute bans? Is it really that hard to mute someone? It takes me 3 seconds to mute someone. If there wasn’t a “quick mute” feature and muting had to be done by going through the tedious process of loading up the guide, scrolling over to recent players, finding the person, loading there gamercard and THEN muting them, then sure, why not, but the fact that any time I choose I can mute someone with the press of a button there is no reason there should be a mute ban.

My friend got a 1 week mute ban and he does not even talk in game chat.

Easily abused feature is easily abused.

Guilty, what a plum!

Was thinking the same, thing, the amount of players that have it enabled and don’t realise it is mind blowing, literally lol.

This. Many people forget that the Kinect has a microphone. There is a setting to turn the mic. off for chat on it. If you don’t, all the racket from your TV blasts all of us in our ears and we mute you.

You get voice banned after X number of folks manually mute you. If you have that Kinect set up wrong you’ll keep getting muted.

There’s no need to continue a misplaced discussion that is both taken care of and can be properly discussed here: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst135680_The-Official-Halo-4-Ban-Thread.aspx

Thank you and keep it clean.
