So this weekend my wife and I were ATTEMPTING to play some halo. During the course of our gaming there were about 3 games where she couldn’t play because our son kept on crying. She had to go and take care of him repeatedly and I kept her controller on for her. I have been doing some reading and apparently this is considered credit boosting. Is there any way I can get this ban lifted? I wasn’t trying to “credit boost”…Help!

Seriously, everyone knows that thread accomplishes absolutely nothing.
You can’t get the ban lifted. There exists no appeal process, reversal procedure, or source of compensation. Your intentions may have been good, but their system is not smart enough to discern a booster from a simply inactive player.
However, you can bypass the ban and continue to earn credits using the custom challenges.

You would of received a 24 to 48 hour ban for your first offence and up to 2 weeks for second offences and it is not for credit boosting but guest AFKing ( Away from Controller) The Banhammer is automatic and pretty much sees 3 games in a row with zero kills as guest AFKing and dishes out the ban to the accounts and console that was invloved in those games. If you want to avoid this in the future either sign your wife out when she has to go away to attend your son or pick up her controller and get a couple of kills with it during a game. Unfortunately there is no right of appeal because nobody from 343 follows this on the forums.

The intention of that topic isn’t to get unbanned, it is to find out why you were banned, hence its original title “Why Did I Get Banned”.

Although people say that the first offense is only 24-48 hours, I can tell you from experience that it is actually a week ban (had to AFK boost to get the stupid defiant achievements)

Indeed.
I have also found that there is no 2-week ban, either.
While you’re waiting it out, you can use this method to earn credits, even while you’re banned.
