I just received a message that I was banned from matchmaking. I got it after quitting out of a match where I was the only person left on my team. I have quit out of a few other games too, but every single time except for one I was the last player on my team (the one other time I had to leave for real life stuff).
I don’t think players should be punished for quitting out of an arena match when they are one of the last two players on their team. 4v2 in any game mode is a significant disadvantage and there is no reason why you should be punished for leaving. In my case when I quit out of all of the games I left early I was the last player. I don’t want to spend 10 minutes getting killed and ruining my stats when it’s not my fault that my other three teammates left.
Is there anyone at 343 looking into this, or should I just suck it up and let my Spartan die 30 times in a row the next time I’m abandoned by my team?
Also, to clarify: I’m not salty that i was banned. My ban only lasted about 5-10 mins. I’m just thinking about the future and how there is a flaw in this system.
I’ve found myself in a similar position at times (almost always warzone q.q) but ultimately stuck with even the most one sided games for fear of being banned. Out of curiosity, did you quit a few games in one session or have you quit a lot of games in general? Just curious as to how sensitive the ban system is.
I’ve only quit a handful of matches and every single time it was because I was the last player on my team. A few were definitely during the same session. Like I said though the ban wasn’t too harsh but I imagine if I keep quitting games where I’m the last teammate I will start getting harsher bans. Today I have been the last player on my team twice now and I stayed in both games afk letting myself die. That wasn’t fun for me, I’m sure it wasn’t fun for the enemy team, and it wasn’t good for my stats (in before “no one cares about your stats”). But I had to do it because I was afraid I’d get banned for a longer period of time.
That is defiantly an issue. I completely agree. It is one thing if someone is quitting out of a game with a full team but if you are one of the last 2 that should not be held against you.
