This is a weird one, I was playing matchmaking snipers on Halo4 xbox360 and towards the end of the game a message flashed up that i had quit too many games recently and that if i left the game i would be banned for 60 mins. i clicked the message away and continues playing… won the match… then got kicked from matchmaking. I’m the only person that plays on this box, and i only play halo 4 on it. occasionally, rarely i will jump out of the game if the lag is too high, on SWAT for example. Whats going on?
Define rare? Not trying to a buthole, but your definition of rare might be different then 343i’s definition. How many out of 10 would you quit?
Hi, on average once, maybe in a 5 hour period, so 1 in 20 games perhaps 1 in 10, It does happen that I’ll be paired up over the atlantic Sweden - USA and for SWAT that sucks so it could be that i quit 2 in a row, then none for the rest of the session. Are there any rules /Stats on how often you’re ‘allowed’ to quit?

I tryed looking at your Halo 4 stats here on Halo Waypoint, and it says you are SR-1 with no game progress and 0 Halo Gamerscore. I checked your profile on Xbox.com as well and you have Zero Halo gamerscore there as well. Additionally, your profile avatar does not show. Are you sure you weren’t banned from Halo 4 or XBox LIVE for violating Terms of Service? The signs kind of point to one of those two things.
The quit bans are not instantaneous, which is why you got the message in-game. That was when it decided you had quit to many games within a specific amount of time. It let you finish the match you were in and then banned you for 60 minutes. I don’t know the specific threshold for the ban, but I know that it’s pretty high. Basically, it’s designed to catch people who quit every match right after the vote because they’re looking for a specific map or game type. You have to quit a lot in a very short amount of time to get the ban. I know. I’ve had it often.
If you quit 4 games within an hour period then you will get banned for 60 min. Unfortunately these messages pop up in the middle of the game right after your fourth quit which renders your control of your Spartan until the message goes away. This often happens at critical times in the game when you are in combat, usually getting you killed. Thanks 343
ok,thanks for the info, perhaps it was not impossible that i quit 4 games in an hour…hard to believe but not impossible, thanks for explaining the mid game message, you’d think they’d have figured that out a bit better :).
