I can get someone having lots of crashes. But that means they’re playing lots of games. Crashing out of a game is fine, however leaving 17% of all games you play seems like a lot. I myself have played roughly 1000 games of Infinite. I play fairly regularly, but not excessive. I only use this account. To have quit 228 games would mean that either half of my losses or wins would instead be quit matches.
Ironic… there obviously aren’t any mirrors in your house.
I also quit frequently. Mostly from fits of pique, but that’s just grumpy old me. In fact I’m in a ban right now for suiciding too many times. When a game is so lopsided that there is zero hope of winning, imma leave or blow myself up for entertainment.
Hmm, well I doubt they would think “Joined game. Got killed three times in about 1.5 minutes. Quit.” as an acceptable answer from me.
But the difference is that HE is right: you are trying to justify your habitual quitting with weak excuses.
Seriously? And people wonder why so many of us want longer bans for quitting. ![]()
Nah, it’s just some of you are being really entitled to other people’s fun, and to being right. “He is right”, “I am right”, “YOUR arguments are weak excuses” blah. It’s a videogame, people will be quitting if they aren’t having fun. Deal with it. ![]()
I’m quitting out of launch site anything the second it pops up and no one’s gonna stop me.
During S1 i wished it was just 17% of matches that crashed or had severe lag issues. I had 1 in 3 or on bad days sometimes even 1 in 2 matches having that. It was realy that bad for me. It was realy madening.
That is also the reason why i almost never play ranked, because i still have the fear of crashing due to S1. In S1 i only played ranked for the challenges and in S2 i only played the placement matches to at least get an nameplate out of it for S2 (even though that one is to low for my actual skill, since you are always being put in way lower then your skill).
It’s not about if the reason is acceptable or not, but finding out what the reasons are and if there is a way to tackle some of the reasons. The reason you give then should not be used against you (otherwise people won’t be honest), but to learn and improve the game.
“i got killed 3 times in 1.5 mins” is not something they realy can do something with ofcourse, also because that doesn’t have to be excesive either. Just like if someone answered “got an IRL emergency” wouldn’t be something 343 could do anything about obviously.
But “teams are very imbalanced” is a reason that if happening a lot could signal the SBMM is not properly functioning and should be fixed. Just like “shots are not registering” could be a reason to look into it, or “wanted to play with friend, but friend didn’t load in”, “i keep getting spawnkilled” are things that could be worth looking into.
But that doesn’t mean that it have to be seen as a legit reason to quit. People answering “i wanted BR-slayer, but got AR/SK” could still give an important signal (people want to be able to chose between BR- and AR/SK-slayer), even though it’s not realy a legit reason to quit. I heared that in Team Snipers a lot of people quit when they get the version with skewers (i don’t play team snipers, since i hate snipermatches), that could also be a strong signal.
Some reasons 343 could not do something about, but there are a lot of reasons people quit that they could perhaps do something with if they knew the reasons why people quit, even if that reason might not be a good reason to quit.
Don’t forget that many players do not take the time to file tickets if they think something is broken, because it takes to long and also because it’s way to hidden where to do that. A simple and short pop-up for people who quit could therefore be way more effective to getting valuable info.
If 343 was actually interested in learning and improving the game based on player feedback, collision would have been fixed during the Insider flights before the game was released.
343 has been ignoring player feedback for 10 years. What makes you think they have any interest in starting now? They are more interested in telling all of us that we’re doing it wrong and if we just obeyed their commands, we would have so much more “fun”…

Of course, it IS only a video game. So, you really won’t mind if you get banned for 30 minutes after you quit, or 60 minutes if it happens again, and 2 hours the time after that, etc. Deal with it. ![]()
You’re replying to me. Why are you saying “the author” instead of “you”? You used the word “you” in the next paragraph so it doesn’t make any sense.
So you’re self projecting by accusing me of exactly the same thing that you’ve been doing, with literally no regard to other people’s fun. Very unfortunate indeed ![]()
Not even close.
-
During more than 17 years of Halo online matches, I have never quit during an ongoing game.
-
I have never been “moderated” on these forums for inappropriate comments.
For you, both those type of events seems to be inconsequential. Very unfortunate, indeed.
He is right, but you don’t seem to see his point.
Both of you are arguing about your own fun and not caring about the others.
He defends his quitting because he has no fun in that match and you accuse him of not caring about the fun of the others.
And you defend your stance against quitting because it ruins your fun and you don’t care if others have fun by being forced to stay in that match.
Although both of you have a difference stance on the matter, both your argumentations comes down to your own fun without acknowledging the fun for the other.
Too bad no one can verify that. Meanwhile you’re accusing people of quitting when they don’t have fun in a video game, showing strong entitlement over other people’s fun.
Hard to believe since you seem to get easily obsessed and constantly provoke others. You must have crossed a thin line at least once. I mean, leave me alone already dude. Accept that we disagree and drop it. Flagging my post and then proceeding to accuse me of being moderated is very childish. Accept that people will quit your matches if they don’t have their fun, and deal with it. ![]()
You’re not wrong, but there’s an important thing to note here. I’m focusing on the 4 vs 4 Arena matches and elaborated on why I think quitting them can be reasonable. However, I’ve stated that I rarely have reasons to quit BTB matches, because there’s usually a team to try for and they’re usually more fun.
Since he wasn’t the one who flagged your post, you are wrong (again). If you can’t engage in a mature debate without resulting to inappropriate comments to emphasize your point of view, that’s what happens.
Highly inappropriate words, which actually tell us quite a bit about your maturity level (or lack of same).
Nice try. While we are good friends, CeruleanGirl and I are definitely two separate people who play Halo together on a regular basis. You can verify that in Halo Tracker… unlike your profile, I have nothing to hide.
I intend to. It is quite obvious that you have no intention of changing your ways, and will continue to be detrimental to the Halo community. GGs!
So what then, stay in a miserable game and just stew until it ends? Life is frustrating enough without our leisure activies adding to the constant annoyance of modern existence.
And you really think it matters? You really think someone cares longer than 30 seconds about if you stayed in a game or not? Tbf, I rather have anybody quit instead of going -10…
Tell me, why are people still quitting ranked while there a bans handed out after 2 quits, increasing time pretty quick? And: what do you think how people are playing a game having no fun but are forced to stay in a game? motivated? the best the can? entertained and satisfied?
You are talking about maturity yet are arguing for the most infantile, lazy and most importantly useless and ineffective system a developer can come up with.
May I recommend you stick to free for all game modes then in the future? Since you can’t seem to handle being apart of a team and showing any sort of good sportsmanship in a match you agree’d to be apart of by hitting the search button.
It’d probably be in your best interest too, and in free for all you don’t screw over everyone else on the team.
Do you give the same advice to people going negative? Please, go play FFA if you can’t run the flag properly, won’t play for power ups and lose most of your 1on1. ![]()
