I just received a ban for idling for halo 5 guardians. I’m not sure what that means. I haven’t done anything wrong. I tried to get help by contacting xbox support, but that was a bust. So now I can’t play the game, and since halo is all I really play, I have zero use for the xbox.
I was also unable to setup co-op so that I could play with my nephews. Just didn’t work.
And the game periodically crashes and boots me to the xbox home screen… the requisition server has been down… i’ve had issues spawning vehicles.
I like the game, however the frequent frustration I experience with the game and microsoft’s awful support outweighs the joy I derive from playing the game. I’ve had enough. Since nobody cares to help me or make the situation right, I’m going to go to the store tomorrow and return all of my merchandise. About 400 dollars worth of equipment and games. Needless to say I will not be purchasing any xbox live subscriptions.
Microsoft and 343 don’t seem to really care about keeping their customers happy. Otherwise someone would make the situation right. I’m sure my experience isn’t unique. And since I don’t feel valued as a customer, I’ll get a refund.
If someone cares to reach out to me, send me an email with your number, and we can have a REAL interaction. I don’t do message boards. They’re a bllsht mechanism designed to create greater distance between and customer and the company. They’re customer service bureaucracy.

If a customer buys a product from the store, and then breaks one of the store rules, say, loitering, and then going off to berate the employees for scolding them, are they in the right?

Its sad that the ban thread is just an ignored wall of conplaints and feedbacks from players about the status of the servers XD. If H5 servers could improve it would be nice

Yeah, I almost bet Halo 2 servers were way better then Halo 3.

I don’t sound stupid at all. I find your remark to be rather obtuse, and your analogy doesn’t apply. I didn’t break any rules and I’m not being unreasonable. I paid 400 for the system and to play xbox live. If they want to ban me (because I left the game several times or whatever their algorithm determines the criterion for idling), I’ll find something else to occupy my time.
It wouldn’t hurt microsoft or 343 to offer some real support to make this right. I like the game, but I don’t care for the arbitrary ban and lack of support. I’ve read through some of the message boards. I’m not the first to complain and I’m sure I won’t be the last.

I can’t play arena games. I’ve left games several times (restroom, wife calling me, phone call), but I’m not going to be treated like a child for leaving a game. They have an algorithm that determines who is an idler. And it’s a poorly constructed one. I’m looking for them to lift my ban immediately so that I can play arena games. Otherwise I’m not going to play at all. I haven’t gotten any help from support. I’m not trying to be ranty, but when I spend my money on something, if I’m not satisfied I expect one of two things to happen: make it right or give me my money back.

Well the bans are usually short since they usually last 40mins. It should be over shouldn’t it ? Well not to bad mouth but usually when players commit to a match they are committing to that match and not be idle in it. Theres always warzone, forge and customs

Do I need to hold your hand so you understand my analogy?
You bought Halo 5 from Microsoft. Their rules are that you cannot quit several times, idle for long periods of time during matches, betray teammates, commit suicide several times in the game, or all of the afermentioned, or else you will be banned for a period of time, depending on how often you receive bans. So basically, you broke their rules, you cannot go on their official franchise website and tell them that their actions were in the wrong, and you were right, and they should relieve their punishment, because you should’ve have known that standing still in the game makes the game worse for the other people on your team. Don’t be an idiot.
You’re not the first to complain, but you are one of the few who don’t understand that you cannot break their rules and get away with it by simply posting on the support threads.
And how could you put 7 days worth of time into the game and not know how the ban system works?!
Seriously though bans don’t last that long. Maybe a few days at the most, and only if you constantly get banned. Don’t sell your damn Xbox. It could be used for so much more than Halo. Don’t go to the extreme m8.
