So I was playing a game of breakout, (the game was so laggy, you’d fly through the air for ages, some people wouldn’t even make it off the launch pads) and my entire team left, obviously because of the lag. Then, I get taken back to the home screen with the message “You have been banned for griefing your team mates”
Right… That’s weird, because I did nothing. The hell is with this broken -Yoink- game.
Bans aren’t given for the actions of one game, rather the system builds up a case against your gamertag over time. In your case you have just over 10 DNF matches in the last week, the last 2 games you played are marked DNF so that’s likely what caused a trigger to be hit and the ban hammer to swing. I didin’t check further back in your service record, but if you have a history of quitting, AFK’ing or team killing then that will also add to any actions taken against you.
Those games haven’t been me quitting, they’ve been myself and my friends getting lagged out onto the home screen. Surely there’s something out in place to recognise a player actually quitting, rather than a player receiving a connection issue. It seems stupid, I’ve been banned for absolutely nothing.
My problem is playing halo 5 for a few hours finish a random match quitting only one or two. Then get banned for two hours or days. And i have good connection. So if i stop quitting Mr Stckrboy,i wouldn’t get banned anymore?

In perfect world we’d be able to do that, but there’s just no easy way to know if someone lost connection versus shutting off their xbox or pulling out their ethernet cable.

Yes, the more you quit the higher chance you have of being banned

Dude, It’s simple. Before a disconnection, there’s always a ping related spike (or something like this) with the data-center. There must be a log registering this event. That’s the difference. Quitting is the event of someone pressing the quit button in the menu, or maybe the electricity goes off/internet disconnects.
You can’t simply ban people If you are not sure about what happened

All ban discussions should happen here. It’s a dedicated thread for ban discussion.
