Tried to start a game 3-4 times, every time the game crashes.
Now when I come back it says I’m banned.
Maybe after the second time you should have called it quits and filed a bug report? Because that’s like going into comp with crappy internet and being surprised that after your got dc’d 3-4 times that you’re now banned.
I mean no offense, but it isn’t surprising you’ve been hit by something after crashing several times while trying to find a match. It’s unfortunate as well, I would just report a crash bug and see if you can’t get unbanned (though the ban is probably temporary).

I strongly disagree, there are plenty of instances where it usually takes a couple of tries to get something working, you shouldn’t be punished for it in the beta, where its practically our jobs to find things wrong with the game and report them. Victim blaming is not cool

What a horrible attitude man. It’s not the guy’s fault that 343’s game doesn’t work properly. Why should he be punished for something he has no control over? Even if he reported it the second time it happened, it would have still crashed the third time so nothing would have changed. Getting banned because their game isn’t coded right isn’t fair at all and it’s definitely not the player’s fault.

Ok, but in what instance does crashing 2 times mean that a third attempt is going to work or even a fourth? Yes, I know, crap happens, the coding isn’t 100% and we expected that because it’s a flight test. However, you don’t keep bashing your head against a door hoping it will open. The best choice would have been for OP to make a report that their game was crashing when they tried to launch a multiplayer session after the second attempt ended in failure because of one thing or another.
I’m not gonna sit here and sugar coat anything saying “oh, well, it’s the games fault because it’s still buggy” when someone keeps trying to repeat something that hasn’t worked without even attempting to report it.
I was also meaning to ask OP if they had accurate specs for the game because some graphics cards are not supported and some have apparently been causing crashes.
But yes HappiFayce, I do understand where you’re coming from, in a flight test where we are supposed to be testing for bugs, it does seem counterproductive to be administering bans for trying to brute force through a problem and see if it’s actually a problem or something on the players end such as internet issues.
Edit: I will apologize for my first response seeming rather harsh, but if by the second time the game crash occurred, it should have been a sign that OP should have reported a potential issue with the 3rd attempt sealing it.

Same thing happened to me, game crashed and on 3rd attempt I got banned.
I started the game a bit after the “ready to start” mark and tried to join a social match.
I’ve seen people on reddit posting about the same issue, apparently it’s a 15 minute ban, hope this reply helps those that made the same mistake!

So, couldn’t connect to a game just one time and I get banned? I understand this is a beta…but meh 
there are reported problems with driver timeouts on 6900xt cards, my pc is x570 godlike, 5900x, 6900xt 1300w power supply, halo has an issue with amd drivers as there are litterally DOZENS of people reporting that driver times out in matches. I cant even play the game personally. i keep getting driver timeout, on all amd drivers etc etc. there is no solution other than the game developer to take action. It isnt anyone elses fault, my pc is worth more than most peoples first car and i cant even play.

undervolt your gpu if you are on amd, set clock speed to 75% and set game graphics to medium, runs fine now
Pretty dumb you get penalized for the game crashing… I understand the game is not perfect but when it says the game may crash don’t punish the player for that -Yoink-… 343 please remove this feature

I was hit with the same ban. I’m relieved to see there’s others but I don’t have much hope for this flight. I’m going to wait until the game is full downloaded. Don’t call it “ready to play”…it’s not.
Also who would quit after 2 disconnects? AgentMaryland93 will be expecting his participation trophy in the mail, don’t let him down👎

Yeah, this is -Yoink-. I tried to enter a game, but for whatever reason it failed, then crashed once, and then tried a third time, the match started, but then I suddenly found myself on the home screen again with the “user is banned” message. This is -Yoink-. What kind of system just bans players for failing to join games?
Just happened to me. My game crashed the same amount of times as yours then i get hit with a ban. They need to fix this as it’s not even my fault as it is also happening to others. But oh well.
