Playing Halo Reach MCC on pc is a bit buggy due the the xbox game pass service app being unstable. That’s to be expected knowing the app is still in beta, but it makes it all the more annoying to get a temporary ban from multiplayer. I and many others will have random crashes during online matches and it’s just very frustrating.

AS unfortunate as it may be, that’s how the ban system works in Halo: Reach as far as I’m aware. if it wasn’t players could just leave or disconnect the Internet connection and go back to the main menu and do it all over again. I’m not sure if there is a work around for your specific issue. I know that when I play Reach on PC and my Internet connection gets cut, I still receive a temporary ban due to the system thinking I quit/disconnected on purpose to avoid a loss or rage.
Could you check and see it your NAT type is set to “OPEN” within the xbox companion app go to “Settings” then “Network” and see what your NAT type is.
If it’s set to anything OTHER than OPEN, I would suggest changing it to OPEN to have the best online experience as possible. Here is a guide on how to change your NAT type on PC.
