Whenever I get challenges that require me to use Covenant/Banished weapons, I think that not all weapons from this faction count toward this challenge. For example, I get like 5 kills with a Gravity Hammer, 3 kills with a Needler, and 2 kills with a Ravager/Mangler, but I only get 5 kills in a 20 kill challenge requiring only Banished Weaponry. I think this challenge should be tweaked to so that you get kills with any Banished weapon (Be it Covenant or Banished in origin) and whatever kills you get with any Banished weapon(Plasma Pistol, Pulse Carbine, Stalker Rifle, Shock Rifle, Disruptor, Mangler, Skewer, Ravager, Needler, Spike Grenade, Dynamo Grenade, Plasma Grenade, Energy Sword, and Gravity Hammer) count towards that specific challenge.
I know, but rather than get frustrated by it, I just swap it and move on. It’s stuff that should be tested, but sometimes, someone at 343 just doesn’t do their job to expectations of the community
This is an issue that’s been around since season 2. I don’t know how they keep reintroducing it. It’s specifically the power weapons that don’t count for the challenges. I submitted a ticket a long time ago and they said that it was fixed, but here we are again.
All i can suggest is go to Halo Support and submit a ticket. If I have this issue then I certainly will.

I actually just checked Halo support. They never said it was solved and the ticket is still open. Ridiculous.
I just had the banished weapons challenge with three of my ten challenges… in total 35 kills with banished weapons. It wasn’t going too well until I realised I could use the Stalker Rifle for the challenge.
Then did them in a couple of games.
Yep Stalker, Needler and Skewer are my go to options. Most people could add Shock Rifle to that list but I can’t get headshots with that thing for the life of me.
