Banished to recruit Insurrection?

Wouldn’t it be neat if Banished recruit humans who hold grudge against UNSC?
I think this would make interesting story. Not just black and white.
I think Banished isn’t brain dead as formal Covenant.
They can hire or negotiate with other abandoned human colonies.

I mean, they pretty much slaughtered the civilian researchers the second they arrived, and Atriox has as much reason to hate humanity as he does the Covenant. The reason his clanmates died was because of the war with Humans, so I don’t see him recruiting them. Also, he’s kind of stuck on the Ark right now and as far as we know the Ark is still highly classified and beyond the reach of any Insurrectionists, and that’s not mentioning the fact that Cortana pretty much EMP’d the entirety of colonized space, so yeah.

He could,if he would is another thing.
I think if he would recruit,he would be more an background man.

It’s possible that they would still both fight against the UNSC, but they might ignore each other in some sort of perpetual ceasefire. At least for the time being, while planning to take out the other when the UNSC is out of the picture. Either way, it would be very interesting to see.

It would be interesting, but no. If he was going to work with humans he’d have some in his army already.

I have been wanting to see humans working more closely with the ex-Covenant races for a while, albeit as protagonists rather than as antagonists… it would feel like a logical extension of the worldbuilding explored on Venezia in Kilo V. Anyone with an excuse to hate the UNSC banding together.

That said, though, Atriox sure didn’t seem too keen on humans in HW2. He’d have to have a fairly significant change of heart for it to happen, I think.

I think this is a solid good idea. I’ve been wanting the Insurrections to appear in a halo game and alliance between the and banished will create more conflict for the UNSC.

Only problem is? I don’t think the Innies have the ability to contact any Covvy separatist faction. Because the covvy want to kill all humans?

Also I think only UNSC has learned to speak most covvy language.

That is somewhat covered by the Keepers of the One Freedom in Last Light

I think 343 did a reasonably good job with Halo Wars 2 Campaign (could have seen more of Atriox), and while it was a definite improvement over the mess that was Halo 5’s story, I can’t help feeling that the developers and game designers missed a trick but not having us fight enemy AI controlling ‘Red Coloured’ UNSC forces, and giving us the opportunity to control actual Covenant forces along UNSC forces.

The maps are set with multiple bases, so its defiantly possible that some campaign missions could have been setup to allow us to field both UNSC and Covenant bases and their associated units.

Lore wise, this could be easily explained by establishing that the humans forces fighting alongside the Banished are Insurrectionists, or actual UNSC personnel originally taken prisoner by the Covenant, and then liberated by the Banished and incorporated into their forces. A decade of fighting alongside these aliens could easily have allowed them to develop the idea that the UNSC abandoned them when they encounter the SOF crew.

Likewise, Covenant forces fighting alongside the SOF crew could be Swords of Sangheili troops who were on the Ark when the Banished arrived, and who had then been fighting a Guerilla campaign against Atriox forces when the SOF showed up. (Or they could be actual pre-schism Covenant taken prisoner by Atriox and then liberated by the SOF crew, thus forming an unlikely alliance against the Banished)

Would have allowed the possibility for some very interesting additional characters to both Atriox and Cutter’s retinue. (Just going off the bat here, but a cybernetiaclly enhanced female Sangheili vs a surviving clone of one of the original Spartan II’s who miraculously survived their terminal illness, now turned traitor to the UNSC)

UNSC didn’t know about Banished before Halo Wars 2, right?
Is there any record of Banished contacting insurrection?
Banished slaughters people on Ark because Banished knew they were associated UNSC.
I think they can differentiate UNSC and insurrection. And insurrection can try to negotiate first.
