With Infinite being the first mainline Halo game to not feature some form of the Covenant as a primary antagonist, its multiplayer is likely going to do away with the zealous maps we’re used to seeing. A new era of Halo architecture is being ushered in… and it’s no longer elegant and purple. What do you hope to see from this new steely and reddish style? It could be the Brutes’ remake of a Covenant map, or something entirely new and innovative.
Halo Infinite wouldn’t necessarily be the first, Halo 5 had them as a secondary antagonist. Same for Halo 4’s if you’re only mentioning the main campaign. But I think changing the style of the covenant themed maps to fit the aesthetic style of the Banished would be pretty cool.

Halo 4 and 5’s campaigns feature Covenant and Prometheans roughly equally—at least during gameplay. That’s why I consider them both primary antagonists (as factions) even if the ‘big bad’ is a Forerunner or an AI.
This could work well. The covenant themes have always worked well with Midship, Heretic, and Zealot. Banished design would look great too.
Given how the Brutes are back and they seem to be the main force of the Banished, I’m thinking it would be great to have a Sandtrap remake in Banished aesthetic. Still, it would be nice if there was maybe at least one old Covenant styled map, with the purple colour and such.

I’d love to see the inside of a Banished ship for a map… but maybe not in another Midship remake. We’ve had enough of those to last a lifetime.

Exactly! As much as I love Midship’s layout, we’ve seen that map too many times.

Same here! I love the Banished architecture we’ve seen in the demo. I’m sure it’s gonna make for some great multiplayer maps.
I think havign a remake of covenant maps in banished theme would be neat.
I’d also like a map of like a covenant ship thats being converted to banished style. So one team’s side would be purple, the other grey/red.

Dude, you have no idea what I’d do for something like that lol.
Its going to be hard to make a lot of ‘Banished’ themed maps using their colors since MP its Blue v Red. I can see quite a few being made hopefully but theyll have to manipulate the typical themed colors of the Banished on the map. Im picturing this almost ‘Mordor’ like designed maps to catch their Brutish nature/theme.

Even in Halo CE and 3 the “big bads” of the game were 343 Guilty Spark in CE and Gravemind in 3. The Covenant has only ever really taken center stage in 2, ODST, and Reach before.
I hope we get both to be honest, I like as much variety as possible.

The original Chill Out was a covenant structure of some kind, before Halo 3 brought it back as a Forerunner containment facility. Maybe a remake of CE’s version in the style of the Banished would do? It won’t be the interior of a Banished ship, but it might make a good substitute. That, and I happen to like the layout of the map!

Yeah I think it’d be a good idea to only add Banished maps rather than replace them for a nice variety of locations
