With Halo Wars 2 on the way, and what I’ve seen of the Banished, I figured I’d ask and see which of these terrors you would rather brave. Would you rather take on the all consuming parasite, or the vicious and merciless Banished. Take your pick Spartans.
It would be great to see the flood again, but I’d prefer to fight anything over the flood.
So would pretty much every forerunner.

In real life I’d feel a lot more comfortable fighting aliens as opposed to space zombies. In the games however I would like to see the return of the Flood. Also, I am hoping and it is my personal theory that the Banished will take the place of the Covenant in all games going forward after the disarray that the Covies are/should be in after the death of Jul. Atriox could easily take advantage of this power vacuum, assuming he isn’t killed in HW2.
I was going to ask whether you meant which one we would want to fight for video game gameplay purposes, or which one we’d want to have to face if they were both real.
But then I realized my answer is the same either way. Banished. Because A. the Flood are annoying as yoink in gameplay, and B. as far as facing them in real life… I’m sure one of Atriox’ Brutes could just smash my spine with a gravity hammer instantly and put me out of my misery, as opposed to the living hell of being infected by the Flood.
Well, the Flood are my favorite faction to fight. So I pick the Flood.
The Banished because at least when a brute grabs you and snaps your neck its over,but with Flood you don’t get the sweet release of death instead you have your body mutated and can no longer control yourself(This was for in real life)As for the games it’s hard to choose.
Flood, just so I can see the infection animations for Grunts, Jackals, Brutes, Elites, Humans, etc.

Banished any day the flood freaked me the -Yoink- out and while I don’t mind them anymore I don’t want to see a HD infection animation. Ever. At all. In any way shape or form. I already had problems with H3 and I don’t want that problem again

i’d rather be brave on the parasites that land on the planet that was infected
Banished then I don;t have to worry bout killing someone I know
Personally: Flood, love their whole concept and intelligence of the flood.
Factual: banished, the Flood are a much more difficult opponent that can overwhelm you in a heart beat adapting to your attack patterns and being able to change their physical form to take you down, banished are like the storm covenant that they are freshly separated and are unorganized without their leader, if the main head is to be taken down the whole system can fall, example jul mdama, (spoiler) he is offed within the first mission and then the whole covenant fell.

In the games? Depends if I can find a shotgun. If I can, then its Flood all the way. If not, then Banished please.
In real life? Definitely Banished. I’d rather be crushed by a 2 ton stone/energy weapon than turn into a green space zombie that could end up harming any fellow soldiers
There’s a reason why the Forerunners killed all sentient life in the galaxy to get rid of the Flood. That thing just destroys everything, is devilishly intelligent and is basically the very definition of evil and horror.

It’d definitely be hard to choose for the games but in real life… really it’s a matter of crushed or shredded or agonizaingly assimilated into a hive mind, assuming worst case scenario… Never know, could be the next “Doom Slayer” of Halo.
in-game? Hard to say, i have missed new flood missions so perhaps the flood for now but the alien species from the old covenant are also important part of the Halo and at least most of them should be in every Halo game. So basically i believe both are big part of Halo and even though i prefer the covenant aesthetically and ideologically to the banished. I still think a mix of both flood and the alien species could be the best scenario for me. Like it used to be.
and in real life? Definitely the banished for id rather get shot at than potentially get ripped apart and get my body and memories slowly and painfully snatched by the flood. Its a matter of preferance that what kind of risks you rather take.
