Banished Hunters

Might the Hunters within the ranks of the Banished sport that red and white colour combo seen on the Banished Phantoms? I think it would look awesome on them, just like the Phantoms which look marvellous colour wise.

That is a possibility. We already see golden—armored hunters in ODST beside their blue-armored counter-parts. Also, the Ghost and Wraith was shown in Banished form.

Pretty sure there’s a MegaConstructs toy out there that showcases a Banished Hunter sporting red and white. So yea, I feel like it’s safe too assume there will be Banished ones as well as transitional ones just like all the other units. It’ll be interesting how they rank. Are the Banished version technically a higher rank, or is it purely cosmetic?

I think the gold ones in ODST were golden because Bungie wanted a way to differentiate the beam cannon ones from the fuel rod cannon ones, since the game brought back hunters firing their cannon like in CE. Of course, Hunters ended up being so rare in ODST that it didn’t really matter in the end.

I did consider the possibility of toys showing Banished-coloured Hunters, but since a lot of enemies in last year’s demo didn’t look very Banished-like, I wondered if it applied to Hunters too.

Interesting question about ranks. I don’t think Hunters ever had ranks in the old games, there was only one type of Hunter (excluding ODST’s gold Hunters) and that was that. I suppose now there is the potential for having Hunter ranks and even visual differences to go along with them!
In fact, going back to the aforementioned Mega Bloxs sets, I do remember once seeing a Hunter toy called the Hunter Elder, which had white armour. Perhaps those could be featured in Infinite as another Hunter rank. They could be tougher and perhaps have differences in their AI behaviour. No higher damage, though.

Speaking of Banished Hunters, are we going to see Goliaths?

Are we going to see any of the banished unique stuff from HW2?

So far everything we’ve seen been either classic covie stuff with the banished style, or actually new stuff (mostly in the weapon department).

I hope so, they will look great shooting red plasma as well.

I presume the Hunter Elder comes from Halo 5 Warzone, which had boss-tier Hunter enemies that were red, with a stronger variant that was white and purple.

Love the idea. It kinda would be terrifying lol.

I dont believe we will see this because the elites and grunts we saw were not Banished theme although I would love to see another special hunter besides the golden one

Oh yes, I remember those. I only played Firefight, no regular Warzone, but I believe they did appear there too. Of course, I don’t like to count them because Halo 5’s Hunters are the absolute worst in the series. They are so unenjoyable to fight with their lightning fast unavoidable attacks that all kill in one hit. It’s quite a shame. If the Hunters weren’t so rage-inducing I would have thought those Warzone variants were incredible.

Agreed, and I enjoyed the purple and white aesthetic of the Hunter Elders. Certainly, one of the cooler looking enemies in Halo 5 and gives me hopes for infinite.

There are Banished Hunters in HW2. High chance we will see them in Infinite.

Ah great to hear confirmation that they exist among the banished. Can’t wait to dance with them in campaign!
