Banhammer Time

So I’ll begin this post by saying that yes, I have been known to quit for the following reasons: anger, boredom, joining somebody else’s game, accidentally joining the wrong genre (instead of Arena, I joined Slayer).

Anyway, I had received a banhammer.
I didn’t quit; instead, I completed a match and then I left. Then I got a banhammer.
It said I had to wait for three hours. Alright, fair enough. I went to play Minecraft with my friend for a while. When I returned, the ban was still in place.
It had been three hours. Maybe even longer.

Is it something wrong with my game/Xbox?
Am I just stupid?

Insert Catchy Ban Thread Slogan here but in all seriousness, that’s where all ban related questions are answered. (Click on the blue text.)

As for the quitting issue, the ban detects quits in prior games. Usually when you play a game or wait a few minutes, you’ll see the ban hammer message.
(There’s also a bug where bans massively stacks/increases the ban time if you somehow manage to trigger the quit ban twice in a row… maybe that’s why? Unless 343i fixed it, but I haven’t heard any words about it.)

Ban related questions go in the thread linked in my signature. The ban system takes a match to catch up, so whatever earned your ban took place in the match prior to the one where you received the 'banhammer strikes" message.

Eventually you will be unbanned. Maybe.
