Banhammer?!?! Really?!?!

so I’ve been playing Halo online since Halo 2. Same gamer tag, lucky to have a good group of fun people to play with. Tonight, for the first time EVER, I was hit with a Banhammer. In the interest of full disclosure I had some connection issues last night where I was dropped out of two games. This is the first I’ve had this problem with Halo 5. Tonight I had one game where I put my controller down because my dog -Yoink- in my house. I come back and I’m banned!!! Really!!! This is how loyal customers who have never caused problems are treated? You realize real life situations happen sometimes right you dumb -Yoinks!-? So here, I’ll give you reasons to ban me on forums too…-Yoink- you 343 you -Yoinking!- idiots. I’m glad I paid for a game where you can take away my right to play over a few games. You know my wife went in to labor once during a halo 3 matchmaking game. I had to quit out…so glad I didn’t get banned then. I don’t get to play as often as I would like…so thanks for ruining that for me -Yoinks!-. Have I mentioned -Yoink- you?

Enjoy both your bans now i guess…

Jeez that response…

I had the same thing last night as well. I’ve never intentionally left a game no matter how bad I’m doing. It’s such BS!

The admins on way point are just PC SJW that want to censor people.

You only have 3 of 4 DNF matches in the last few days so your ban should only be for a few minutes, It will tell you on the ban screen how long it lasts for. Depending non how long you left for, being AFK will have added to your case and triggered the ban. The best thing to do if you really need to dive off is just to quit out of the match. As long as you’re not doing that all the time then you won’t hit a trigger. if you AFK then you’re not really helping anyone and will get banned for it

You DNFd 3 of your last 6 games but its not a habitual problem. I can’t imagine the ban was more than a few minutes long. If you had just quit the game and still gotten a ban, it probably would have been over, or close to it, by the time you were done dealing with your dog.

I’m sorry you have connection problems, that sucks but the fact remains that connection problems are not an excuse and cannot be considered by 343 as an “exception” because guess what you get? People purposefully disconnecting to quit the game and avoid bans. If you are having connectivity issues, you should get those sorted out. it sucks i know and i don’t blame you for that, but nobody wants to play with a quitter regardless of why they are quitting.

They should double the AFK timer, in Warzone at least. They need to realize that people just need to leave for a few minutes sometimes.

The last game was BTB and my team was winning. They still won so that isn’t even an issue. It’s not about being an exception it’s about their parameters being a little too tight. The night before I lagged out (or whatever) from two matches so I stopped playing for the night so it wouldn’t keep happening, trying to do the right thing and not ruin other people’s experiences. The ban didn’t last long but it was just really annoying.
