It is crazy how many people are posting complaining about the banhammer, I’m man enough to admit that I received up to a 4 hour banhammer yesterday, it was just a bad day for me. But I didn’t blame 343, I didn’t make a feel bad for my misery post, I jumped into warzone and played that instead. It’s like people have no other games to play or activities to do.
I guess they must be new, there is no pleading with the banhammer.
PS- Stop blaming lag when everyone can see your consistent DNF matches.
so i see you posted on mine than made your own post. as i said before that what you said was not correct. you can quit a match without being banned. i have quit before and not happened. i will at most, on a bad day, only quit 1 time. and i will play another 3 hours not interrupted. no banhammer ever comes. but this time i quit a game 3 matches ago and it first said connection problem than it said banhammer. I’m not too bother, though i am certain this is a glitch, because its a once a day 5 min and after 24 hours passes it reverts all tally marks so idk what the second mark is. from what you said you got a 4 hour so i take it you got punished that day with 5 min for quitting multiple matches, than did it again the next time and received a 4 hours one. I’m glad this isnt like Halo Reach where it was 1st time was a week, 2 time was a month, 3 time was perma ban. 343 came in and changed the banhammer to allow 3 strike offenders back in and changed it to 1 day ban, than 1 week, than 1 month and after that its 1 month every time. but this is better so after 24hrs if i were to quit multiple times and get my first punishment of 1 tally mark, which i havent done, you restart your tally marks back to 0 the next day. i think it works and should stay this way, especially with bad servers. I’m just reporting glitches and errors and such.
All im reporting is a bug or glitch of some kind where even though i didnt quit, except 1 time, never lagged out, never TK, didnt suicide. But it gave out a banhammer for no reason. And this is a priority to be notified to the programmers to look into. so don’t mock people when they are reporting glitches. beta testers have a hard job. congradulate them when they find issues.
I wasn’t referring to your post you arrogant turd, I was referring to the like 10+ banhammer posts you see when going into the forums. Then those players magically have repeat DNF offenses. I had trouble following all of your response, but I’ll touch on what I gathered from it. Reach was a trash banhammer system, the Halo 5 banhammer is delayed, but it doesn’t mean it is unmerited, in fact it means there is calculation going on in the background, it’s looking for repeat offenses before striking us down. I’m telling you your one quit struck you with the banhammer because it saw DNF in your history, I really don’t think it is a bug, it is a system where you are on “probation” for repeat DNF which flags you in all future quits, increasing your chances of getting a banhammer -Yoink- slap after a single quit game. On a side note, glitches should be posted on the Halo 5 Support forum if you are serious about them fixing it, not the general Halo 5 forum. I don’t know where I implied programmers or beta testers lack skill or ability, this is the industry I am going to school for, I’m not about to start burning bridges over the banhammer. Finally, why is your whole last paragraph a link?

wow getting all hostile are we now? and delayed sounds like glitched. and there is no difference in that clip from any other day i have quit a match. Near end, middle, beginning. never happened before. and DNF is wiped after next day. you can quit, get a 5 min ban, next day do that exact thing and get a 5 min ban. DNF will not be affected for next day after reset. And i am going to go there but wanted to see here first if it was a glitch and if you are saying delayed than i believe so this is a glitch. and im a grad and i have done some QA and beta tested several games and thats why i said that because you sounded mocking for no reason. and lastly, just cause 3.

Not hostile, just tired, I’m at the tail end of a 24 hour shift at work. I did find out apparently suicides and teamkills play into the banhammer too. The problem I see with this is sometimes the game doesn’t even tell me I killed my teammate with a grenade, I only know because I get a kill hit marker and doesn’t give me a kill. I’m starting to wonder if these are why I’m getting struck occasionally with banhammer, because my DNF isn’t that bad.

You go to Service Record>Game History and on the picture to the left where it normally says Victory or Defeat, it will instead say DNF.

BTW.
Your ban wasn’t for quitting that 1 game OP, but that game would be the trigger that caused your 3 day ban. You currently have over 10 DNF matches over the last week and more further back in your service record. The ban system works on an incremental level, one which looks at patterns of quits, betrayals and idling on your history. By your won admission you have been banned previously for quitting matches, the more this happens the higher chance you have of being banned and each time you band time will increase. It has always been quite clear that if you quit out of games you will be eventually banned, I’m sure it says this on the playlist screens of Halo 5 as well
That’s a post from a moderator, the system does keep track of previous DNF history in deciding bans.
I keep getting the ban hammer cause halo keeps kicking me out of games 5 minutes in. I never once quit a game, but they keep kicking me out saying I left fire team even when I’m not in one
